If you've got a car, you can pocket an extra $400 per month. How? Make your car a rolling advertisement. The idea is a love/hate one and has polarized everyone I've mentioned it to. Some think it'd be a small price to pay for money that could cover a car payment. Others aren't so sure. I'm going to side with them, particularly after looking at the stipulations of being in the program. You're going to monitor my car location at all times? I must wash it twice a month - even when it's 30 below? I can only park in certain locations? I must sign a waiver stating that it might damage my paint job?! I'll pass. I already thought the buses and electric trains that were totally "wrapped" in advertisements were ugly. I don't see why cars wouldn't be any different. -pm Comments

DATE: Friday May 12, 2000 -- 11:07:15AM I think this "selling out" has gone just too damned far. FROM: Aaron DATE: Friday May 12, 2000 -- 4:31:41PM I've seen a number of Yahoo cars around San Francisco. There are some others too, but I've been able to erase them from my memory banks. FROM: karl DATE: Monday February 26, 2001 -- 5:05:28AM sign up at www.bugwraps.com to get a free car in the northwest, soon to be nation wide. FROM: Dana DATE: Thursday April 12, 2001 -- 4:53:42PM auto wraps are great,if you would have read the stipulations completely you would have noticed the waiver is only for cars with bad paint, 3M actually garanties against dammage for 5 YEARS, which the wrap would make look better anyway. Also if it ever gets to 30 below in southern California, where the company in your story is located, I bet the people at www.bugwraps.com, another company, would let their drivers park in a garage on those days , they prefer the car be visable at all times which is understandable since the sponsors are paying for the space. email them and ask. info@bugwraps.com FROM: Paul DATE: Thursday April 12, 2001 -- 5:52:42PM Thanks but no thanks. The only ad that'll go on my PT is for phonezilla.net and/or the Ping. FROM: Ryan DATE: Tuesday April 17, 2001 -- 11:28:59PM Every time I read "Autowraps," I think of a really big sandwich served at a trendy New York City deli... FROM: Paul DATE: Wednesday June 20, 2001 -- 8:15:15PM Wow, it looks like Autowraps are getting nasty (hooray!) Imagine driving around in your Jeep Grand Cherokee with anti-Jeep ads on it. Yes sir, Oldsmobile is testing just that. FROM: Geraldine R Peltier DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 3:43:36 pm I can,t see anything wrong driving with a wrap on my van. FROM: jon DATE: Wednesday May 15, 2002 -- 2:21:33 pm Ryan you're just an idiot. Didn't your mother ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all! Just because they would rather pass on money to drivers than spend it on web design doesn't mean it's a bad site. At least there smart enough to not have gone banko in two years like so many dot com's or should I say dot bomb's. FROM: Paul DATE: Wednesday May 15, 2002 -- 3:04:43 pm Well, he got "you're" right but missed "they're" and got the apostrophes wrong. You win some, you lose some.
