Here we go: a quick, unscientific survey of how much some things cost where you live. Just for curiosity's sake. I'll go first, for obvious reasons :) Gallon of 87 octane gas: $1.95 Actually, Walgreens was running a sale on milk last week: a gallon of milk was 30 cents less than a gallon of gas! -pm Comments

I found out by luck that with my CapitalOne card, I automatically get 10% off on all gas purchases - a nifty feature, which helps immensely. Oh, why not comment to This Old Ping? I'm bringing the values from the original Ping here for comparison. Enjoy!
Gallon of 87 octane gas: $2.86 (was $1.95 in 2000) Movie ticket: $10.00-$12.00 ($7.75) Gallon of milk: $3.29 ($2.99) Sunday paper: $1.75 ($1.50) Current trendy coffee: $5.00 ($3.50) Parking downtown, 3 hours: $25.00-$28.00 ($19.00) The parking and milk ones are based on memory; I don't park downtown, and I drink organic milk which is obviously more expensive. © 2010 The Daily Ping, all rights reserved.
