I want to go on record with that fact that Eric Clapton, although talented, is totally boring. Now I'm going to go listen to my Blue Oyster Cult records.

Really, I'm not a huge fan of Clapton either (or even B.B. King for that matter)... generally, with blues, I like it old and nasty (Blind Willie Johnson -- who was a big influence on Clapton, Magic Sam, Son House, etc.). About the only blues guys that are still alive that I listen to are T-Model Ford and R.L. Burnside (both on Fat Possum).

Clapton and King are both talented, for sure, but their sound has always been a bit overproduced for my tastes. Should be interesting to see what they come up with together, though.

Clapton's recent solo work, to my mind, has been dreadfully boring and lackluster. Too much of that formulaic adult contemporary style - the guy can play guitar, and that's kind of been lost on the recent stuff.

Yeah, I haven't liked any Clapton since he stopped doing drugs. Or at least around that time. I'll pass on the Clapton/BB King album, but (and don't mock me) I'll probably be getting the new Sinead album. :P
