I used to go between the first and second type. Once, in the 10th grade, we were playing in the wrestling room. I actually managed to whiff, which only counted as one strike. Everyone laughed at me, which provided me enough high school rage to BOUNCE THAT FUCKER OFF THE BACK WALL!!!!! SO WHO WAS LAUGHING THEN, HUH?!!!!!!

Not this school year, but last year towards the end of the college year a group of us had grown tired of 4-square and decided to play a kickass game of kickball at school

Robert -- good story. :) My all-time kickball highlight was also in high school. I wasn't really the jock type, though I was pretty fast and had some minor athletic skills, so kickball was a pretty good, mindless way for me to even out with the jocks. There was one time I kicked a home run (grand slam? I'm not sure...) and the ball actually travelled through the openings in the beams in the ceiling without hitting the actual beams. Pretty surreal.

I LOVED kickball. Although I had some shining moments on offense, my real strength was on defense. I loved the fact that you could throw the ball at someone and get them out. I was the king at doing this, although I had to sit out a few innings on occasion for throwing at people's heads. Totally accidental, I swear.

Ah, you know, I was going to post on this earlier but wanted to be sure of the sport in question. We played this in grammar school all the time, except it was called Bohemian Baseball.

Our basement had support pillars everywhere, so you had to watch for those. I usually kicked balls into right field. If you had a really good kicker, they'd hit it just left of center - all the way to the counter/bar in the front of the basement. :) Those were a pain to field!

I played kickball on friday night for an hour and a half. I love that when I would step up to kick everyone on the opposing team would tell their teammates to "move back"

Hmmmm, I never saw this topic before.

At my elementary school, the strongest kickers would often sail the ball (red) right across the playground and into a window-well that you could only access through the basement. Thus was born the phrase: He kicked a weller. Ask anyone who attended my school and they'll know exactly what you mean.
