Goodbye Mr. Rogers

Mr. Rogers is leaving his show. After an amazing 33 year run, Fred Rogers is stepping down and concentrating on other means of educating kids – including the web.

It’s a sad thing because, to me at least, Mr. Rogers was one of those people who was always there. He’s a throwback to the Golden Age of Television, when things were a little more wholesome and pioneering. Now, we’ve seen and done everything and Mr. Rogers was always still plucking along, like nothing ever changed. There’s something special in that.

A Salon article traversing his career. The PBS site, with music! -pm
