As far as computers, I keep on telling myself that I'm going to wait until the next big step is made and I can make a smart purchase of a computer that will be easily upgradable for the next 5-6 years.

You're in luck. The future was launched November 20. Intel's Pentium 4 microarchitecture will be the basis of the next five years of the industry, and Intel has designed a whole new platform which matches power and cooling spec's up to about 10 GHz. Very upgradable as everything else gets phased out, and extremely scalable.

(Sorry, I'm biased ...)

Terry -- I was (ducking) planning on getting an AMD, but have to do some more research first. :)

Paul -- I run the DVD through my VCR. For whatever reason, I don't need an RF modulator, but my parents who are doing the exact same thing, do need one. They're only about $30...

Matt -- You hit it on the money. But if I had a 5 finger ring (that said "L A Z E" across it), I really wouldn't need anything else. With a 5 finger ring you can get anything you want.

I don't have a cell phone, nor do I need one, but I do really like the Nokia ones with interchangeable covers. Particularly the silver covers. I was actually thinking about just buying a silver cover...so I could have one, not that I would need one. But I decided not having one would be better than the humiliation of asking the cell phone dealer if I could buy a cover without a phone. And my friend said it would be stupid.

Ryan--I wasn't really all that worried about the DVD installation being hard. I just want to buy more gear with messed up names.

Dude? Dont ipods have like 40 gigs? wow your computr msut suck, well thsi was back in 2000 so it did suck, maybe
