What Happened to The Simpsons?

You've presented a point I have wanted to investigate for a long time...why are men so fascinated by The Simpsons? What makes it so appealing? I like it, but hey, it's not THAT great.

The only redeeming bit about this past episode was the homage to The Prisoner. The rest of it was pretty lame.

It kinda makes me sad that a show like The Simpsons has become can stay on the air but Family Guy disappears.

I think it appeals to guys because a lot of the humor was on a lower-level, but it also had a high degree of more cerebral humor, too.

For the record, one of my female pals absolutely adores The Simpsons.

Eh, it's still entertaining. If you want to believe that it ended years ago, go ahead. I'll still watch it.
There really isn't any point to complaining. If the show does not serve you, you'd do yourself a favor to not watch. If enough people give up, it might just go away.

I can name one show that went 10 seasons all of which were great: Married With Children. Also I think I spotted Seven on a milk carton recently.

And the only Stooges I happen to like are the ones once fronted by Iggy Pop. (I think!) Anyway, at least the Simpsons are a little more highbrown than ... South Park. Yikes! :)

Paul--We must agree to disagree. How 'bout last week's episode? I thought it was a nice idea but a little constraining. I was superjacked that they got Malcolm McDowell (f'g Caligula!) to narrate. The best part is at the end when he says that he's just "an English person.

Jeff--No offense, but there can be no good argument on this topic. It's a TV show, plain and simple. If a person doesn't like it, s/he go out and get hammered on Sunday nights because it's obvious s/he has nothing better going on than to worry about entertainment.

I am going to see the legend that is Ronnie James Dio tonight, which will mean that I will miss the Simpsons tonight. I have been a long time fan yet for this I will not shed a tear.
