I'm taking you to the flipside!
I'm very much on a tangent of "Old TV Shows That Were Rather Forgettable" and thus, I present to you Kidd Video. Say you're just cruisin' in California on your scooter, heading over to the abandoned storage place to rehearse some cool new 80s pop synth tunes with your band... when suddenly, the mirror you're looking into becomes a portal to a cartoon dimension!
There, you're doomed to be the musical slaves of Master Blaster forever - unless you can find a way to avoid and thwart him, thanks to the help of Glitter, a strange Tinkerbell-meets-Olivia-Newton-John poseur. In the meantime, Master Blaster keeps kidnapping the hottest artists around: Lionel Richie, Rockwell, and Phil Collins! Only by helping save the residents of Neon City can you put an end to this insanity. And, of course, a little bit o'music in the Kiddmobile doesn't hurt!
This show is pretty old - it was broadcast from 84-86, and it's kind of scary that I remember it (basically only the theme song). The animation was reminiscent of Inspector Gadget's style. And it was oddly popular in Israel. But here's a trivia nugget for you: one of the main characters, Whiz, was played by Robbie Rist. Robbie Rist is slightly more "popular" for playing Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch!
The only Kidd Video site you really need is Kidd Video Flipside. You can even download some complete episodes here - they're around 20-30MB each. Time to go - Cool Kitty and the Copycats are on to me! -pm
