Growing up in a city known for its pizza has an unsettling side effect: multiple restaurants claiming to have Chicago's Best Pizza. It's not an easy title to gain, for certain, but I wondered... was this a dilemma in other cities as well?
As it turns out, it is. Omaha's Best Pizza Reno's Best Pizza Jackson's Best Pizza (do some scrolling!) Montana's Best Pizza I know Montana is a state. Still, there are only about six people there - it counts. -pm Comments

DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 9:56:30 am What about places outside of a well-known city claiming to have "-style" food? Like somewhere in DC offering up "Philly Cheesesteaks," Uno's having to gall to say they serve "Chicago-style pies," or places that claim to have "New York Style Bagels" (though I'm not quite sure what makes a bagel NY-style)... FROM: Robert [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 1:00:42 pm There's a new restaurant in the Fairfax (VA) Towne Centre claiming to be an authentic NYC deli. That's odd, considering it's a good 5 or 6 drive from NYC. What dumbasses they be! FROM: Paul [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 2:38:52 pm Ryan: Uno actually did technically invent the Chicago Style Pizza. However, it's incessantly arguable whether it's the best or not. FROM: Ryan DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 2:40:45 pm Did they really? Ugh. The pizza I've had there has been among the worst I've ever tasted... FROM: Paul [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 2:59:34 pm Oh, yeah. Lou Malnati's is superior - by far - plus they ship coast-to-coast! :) FROM: Maria DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 6:48:39 pm I can safely say that neither Zimorino's nor Howard's have the best pizza in Montana. But then, I'm kind of a Pizza Hut fan, myself. Sorry. FROM: Robert [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 6:53:34 pm Uno's pizza has crust like an apple pie, which totally does not make sense. FROM: Chris [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday February 24, 2002 -- 8:43:12 pm For those of your in Northern VA - Giovanni's in Leesburg makes one hell of a NY Pizza... FROM: Matt DATE: Monday February 25, 2002 -- 12:42:23 am In NYC just look for one of hundreds of pizza establishments called Rays. Anything Ray means good pizza in NY. FROM: Dave [E-Mail] DATE: Monday February 25, 2002 -- 12:07:28 pm in my area.. LORENZOS PIZZA.. its on South Street in Philly and its the best! FROM: Greg DATE: Monday February 25, 2002 -- 3:57:34 pm Al's Pizza in Cicero, Illinois. The mob called Cicero home for many years (so did the mayor, you make the call) and who knows more about Italian food and eating than the mob? But Ryan's correct. Uno's pizza is just not that good. Trust me, there's much, much better Chicago style pizza than that garbage. FROM: Daniel Boich DATE: Friday December 5, 2003 -- 5:37:03 pm UNO's is hand's down the best pizza ever! Never had anything that even compares. FROM: Paul DATE: Friday December 5, 2003 -- 6:12:33 pm You need to try Lou Malnati's then, my friend. Blows Uno out of the water and, frankly, out of the entire ecosystem. FROM: Dave Walls [E-Mail] DATE: Friday December 5, 2003 -- 8:09:06 pm Hey, if you haven't read this old Ping, then it's new to you! FROM: Tataiana DATE: Thursday January 27, 2005 -- 11:56:49 pm If ever in Philly try ACCU PIZZA, best BB-Q chicken pizza i ever tasted, i tried it once and no it is the only pizza i eat. FROM: Robert Zimorino DATE: Wednesday February 16, 2005 -- 3:13:43 pm Maria is an idiot. FROM: Paul DATE: Wednesday February 16, 2005 -- 5:06:43 pm Send it to three years ago, pal. FROM: Bob Zimorino DATE: Tuesday March 22, 2005 -- 10:27:25 am Maria was an idiot then and I would guess she still is. There aren't any comments here yet. This Ping is lonely.
