Omaha's Best Pizza

What about places outside of a well-known city claiming to have "-style" food? Like somewhere in DC offering up "Philly Cheesesteaks," Uno's having to gall to say they serve "Chicago-style pies," or places that claim to have "New York Style Bagels" (though I'm not quite sure what makes a bagel NY-style)...

There's a new restaurant in the Fairfax (VA) Towne Centre claiming to be an authentic NYC deli. That's odd, considering it's a good 5 or 6 drive from NYC. What dumbasses they be!

Ryan: Uno actually did technically invent the Chicago Style Pizza. However, it's incessantly arguable whether it's the best or not.

I can safely say that neither Zimorino's nor Howard's have the best pizza in Montana. But then, I'm kind of a Pizza Hut fan, myself. Sorry.

In NYC just look for one of hundreds of pizza establishments called Rays. Anything Ray means good pizza in NY.

Al's Pizza in Cicero, Illinois. The mob called Cicero home for many years (so did the mayor, you make the call) and who knows more about Italian food and eating than the mob? But Ryan's correct. Uno's pizza is just not that good. Trust me, there's much, much better Chicago style pizza than that garbage.

You need to try Lou Malnati's then, my friend. Blows Uno out of the water and, frankly, out of the entire ecosystem.

I know that Uno originated the Chicago-style pizza, and that's definitely worth noting. But it's also important to note that other people have surpassed them handily.

Hey, if you haven't read this old Ping, then it's new to you!

I cringe in fear whenever I see a restaraunt in another city claiming to have "Philly Style Cheesesteaks". Just because you chop up a Steak Um and put cheese on it doesn't come close to capturing the true essence of a Philly Cheese Steak. Want to see me get really mad? Watch me read an Applebee's menu when I get to the part about their "Authentic Philly Cheesesteak".
