I just wanted to say that I love Canada. So much! It's not just because of the rights given gay couples, or the general liberal attitude, or the fact that they have a currency named the "dollar" too. Oh no! I love Canada because of its ability to make the best frozen pot pies. Why, just yesterday I dined on a very fine frozen pot pie. Chicken, even. In just ten minutes' time (which may vary depending on your microwave,) I was eating something delicious... and Canadian! So, Canada, I salute your frozen pot pies. We also love you for Mike Myers and Michael J. Fox, but pot pies are definitely number one now. Yay! Comments

DATE: Wednesday February 2, 2005 -- 10:22:28 am Paul, have you moved there? Call me incapable of remembering where you guys live. My main concern is where I can get such great pies. FROM: Joseph DATE: Wednesday February 2, 2005 -- 10:46:46 am What brand was the pie? What kind of pot was in the pie? FROM: Paul DATE: Wednesday February 2, 2005 -- 12:03:12 pm We are still in America. Chicago, in fact. FROM: jk DATE: Wednesday February 2, 2005 -- 1:17:00 pm Hmm, I have tried them but did not love them. I still like the ones served at Cracker Barrel each Wednesday for their lunch special. Uh--it's Wednesday--gotta go! FROM: Joseph DATE: Wednesday February 2, 2005 -- 1:31:57 pm I recently ate Marie Callender's pie and thought it was excellent--probably rolls off the same production line as P.F. I'll check to others in the freezer to see if they're made in Canada. FROM: Dave Walls [E-Mail] DATE: Wednesday February 2, 2005 -- 1:46:50 pm ...and thank you, Canada, for the wonderful sport of hockey! FROM: jk DATE: Wednesday February 2, 2005 -- 11:06:50 pm Those of us in Central PA know that the best tasting pot pies have lard in the crust. FROM: Joseph DATE: Thursday February 3, 2005 -- 9:27:46 am Oops. I meant Freezer-Queen. FROM: Ryan [E-Mail] DATE: Thursday February 3, 2005 -- 11:30:00 am It drives me nuts when I pick up a bag of those Kettle Chips, made in Hanover, PA (I think)... they're probably the only brand that use lard in them. They're the only plain chips I won't eat. FROM: Matt DATE: Thursday February 17, 2005 -- 6:56:41 pm Pot pies aren't only loaded with sodium, but also fat, saturated fat, and cholestorol. I still keep a couple on hand, since they are one of the best foods available. I need to start making my own to cut back on the fat etc. FROM: Paulo Nurmi DATE: Saturday November 5, 2005 -- 5:01:43 pm 800 years ago in England they invented the pasty. Like in blackbirds baked in a pie. The Cornish mining engineers brought it to the Lake Superior area. Better than chicken pot pie it is the mother of all convenience foods. FROM: Scott DATE: Saturday November 5, 2005 -- 7:22:31 pm If you're looking for more great Canadian food ... check out canadianfavorites.com or "favourites" if you prefer the Canadian spelling ... it's awesome. All the Canadian food you can imagine shipped to your office ... and no, I'm not on the payroll ... just a displaced Canadian in the U.S. that longs for Ketchup flavored potato chips and HP Sauce! FROM: syberghost DATE: Tuesday November 15, 2005 -- 1:24:24 pm I think Marie Callender's are the only ones that AREN'T made in Canada. FROM: Steve A. DATE: Tuesday November 15, 2005 -- 3:19:23 pm I'm 'sort of' a displaced Canadian. For a good many years I lived on the NY/CDN (Ontario) border. There aren't any comments here yet. This Ping is lonely.
