For some reason, people assume that because I have a love for cult cinema and left-of-center films that that must mean I've already seen all of the classics. And, yes, I've seen some of them. But it seems like a day doesn't go by where someone mentions a movie that "everyone" has seen and I haven't. I know I'm not alone here, though. So I'm going to come clean on a movie I haven't seen that will send you into a state of shock and awe and then you have to come clean with one you've never seen. I've never seen The Godfather. When you're done gasping, fess up. Comments

DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 2:20:27 am Neither have I, and I don't plan on it. Not all great movies are for everyone. I *hate* gangster movies. FROM: Paul DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 8:58:51 am Oh man. There are so many movies that fall into this camp for me that I can't even begin to name them. But people are almost always shocked when they hear of what I haven't seen. FROM: Chris [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 9:14:18 am I just checked the IMDB top 250, and the only english film in the top 20 that I haven't seen is One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. FROM: Robert [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 10:05:12 am I haven't seen The Godfather, either. However, I did read the book in 10th grade. FROM: Merle [E-Mail] DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 2:39:35 pm I haven't seen The Godfather either. FROM: Paul DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 3:12:10 pm It's a Wonderful Life is one of my all-time favorites. But back when it was on 842 times each holiday, my favorite was seeing the Spanish dubbed version on TV. "Feliz Navidad, Senor Potter!" was the best. FROM: dave DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 3:18:18 pm I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia. Since I went to Jordan last year lots of people have been shocked to discover this. FROM: jk DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 3:32:33 pm I don't think I've seen The Sound of Music in its entirety. I get bored! FROM: Joseph DATE: Sunday July 17, 2005 -- 3:45:24 pm I've never seen Something About Mary. As far as comedies go, it's a classic. FROM: Aanen DATE: Monday July 18, 2005 -- 8:45:26 am I've only seen part of the first godfather movie. FROM: Ryan [E-Mail] DATE: Monday July 18, 2005 -- 9:42:39 am Wow... I feel better now seeing that so many people haven't seen The Godfather. It's one of those I intend to see at some point, I just haven't gotten to it yet. FROM: andy DATE: Monday July 18, 2005 -- 1:55:06 pm I just saw Star Wars for the first time a month ago - and I was old enough to be able to drive to the theater when it first came out. FROM: Joseph DATE: Monday July 18, 2005 -- 2:29:01 pm You can live out the rest of your life avoiding the last (first) three. FROM: david [E-Mail] DATE: Wednesday July 20, 2005 -- 6:11:37 am I've never seen any of the Star Wars movies or Titanic FROM: Deeporg [E-Mail] DATE: Thursday July 21, 2005 -- 10:35:12 am I've never seen The Godfather, nor The Exorcist. FROM: laurie DATE: Thursday August 11, 2005 -- 11:05:49 am I also have too many to list that I haven't seen and also gotten where the person who asked me if I've seen a movie shows disbelief over my not seeing the movie they are talking about. I guess I just don't spend as much time seeing every movie that has been in theaters or block busters that people rave about. There is one movie that I would like a copy of though, and it is "The Trial of Billy Jack." Not because it was one that most would see as a must see, but because I was in this movie along with many other high school students that were in either their schools band or drill team in California. It was filmed during a Rams pre show at the Los Angeles Colliseum (did I spell that right, I don't have use of the spell checker on this sight). I was in the drill team for Western High School in Anaheim and we use to do quite a few of the half time shows for the Rams football team, and although many schools participated in the pre show for the filming of the movie, only our band and drill team did the half time show. All the schools involved made a turkey for Thanksgiving and our drill team was the turkey's tail feathers - when they have shown this movie on local TV, they seem to cut this scene out. I've only seen the part we were in the movies at the theater and maybe once on TV. Anyone know where I can get a copy of this movie? FROM: snaily DATE: Thursday August 11, 2005 -- 5:33:35 pm i have hever seen the godfather myself. but, i have seen two of the greatest movies of all time. Napoleon dynamite for one, and of course, monty python and the holy grail. has anyone seen these and liked them? write in! There aren't any comments here yet. This Ping is lonely.
