Neither have I, and I don't plan on it. Not all great movies are for everyone. I *hate* gangster movies.

I was having difficulty coming up with any others off the top of my head, so I popped over to AFI's top 100.

I've never been able to sit through Gone With The Wind. Raging Bull isn't my thing, and I've given a miss to several of the war movies for the same reason. There are about 20 I haven't seen, and there's nothing I really want to see out of that 20.

I guess I'm more embarrassed about great books I haven't read. They are legion.

Oh man. There are so many movies that fall into this camp for me that I can't even begin to name them. But people are almost always shocked when they hear of what I haven't seen.

I watched a part of The Godfather but not all of it.

I just checked the IMDB top 250, and the only english film in the top 20 that I haven't seen is One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

I haven't seen The Godfather either.

I actually try not to watch ultra-popular movies. Usually they suck.

Haven't seen Jurassic Park (read the book ages ago), Top Gun, or Iron Eagle.

Oh, and I skipped Shrek 2. The first was funny, but sequels based solely on the popularity of the first (and not on any plan the authors had) usually bite. I would mention Ghostbusters 2 and Men In Black 2 if any proof is needed.

For my "coming clean": I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life. Apparently everyone sees this movie once a year... but our family watched various Scrooges and the original Miracle on 34th Street instead. And the grinch, of course.

It's a Wonderful Life is one of my all-time favorites. But back when it was on 842 times each holiday, my favorite was seeing the Spanish dubbed version on TV. "Feliz Navidad, Senor Potter!" was the best.

I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia. Since I went to Jordan last year lots of people have been shocked to discover this.

I've never seen Something About Mary. As far as comedies go, it's a classic.

I've seen most of the super classic classics like Gone With the Wind, Dr. Zhivago, Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, North by Northwest, The African Queen, etc.

The Godfather is so much more than a "gangster movie." It's as much of a gangster movie as the original Star Wars is a "space movie," "The Big Red One is a "war movie," or even Cinderella Man is a "boxing movie." Sure, the setting of the mob in Chicago during prohibition is a big part of it, but that's a historical fact, which probably has a lot to do with The Godfather's popularity. But the reason it's important is because of its narrative and cinematographic (if that's a word) successes. I think a lot of people who see the movie miss that stuff and just wait for the horse's head in the bed scene. I think it's a mistake to decide not to see it just because it's ultra-popular. There certainly are a lot of bits in the movie that entertain the peanut gallery who buy most of the tickets. But I don't feel that these scenes were created for the peanut gallery's entertainment. It's the later sequels that made that mistake, and which is why they fall far short of the original movie's powerful story-telling.

I've only seen part of the first godfather movie.

I prefer movies based on WWII.

I just saw Star Wars for the first time a month ago - and I was old enough to be able to drive to the theater when it first came out.

I tried to ask "real" fans in which order I should watch the series, but none could hold back their disgust long enough to give me an answer.

You can live out the rest of your life avoiding the last (first) three.

The first is very good, The Empire Strikes Back is the best one ever, and Return of the Jedi is good but . . .

I also have too many to list that I haven't seen and also gotten where the person who asked me if I've seen a movie shows disbelief over my not seeing the movie they are talking about. I guess I just don't spend as much time seeing every movie that has been in theaters or block busters that people rave about. There is one movie that I would like a copy of though, and it is "The Trial of Billy Jack." Not because it was one that most would see as a must see, but because I was in this movie along with many other high school students that were in either their schools band or drill team in California. It was filmed during a Rams pre show at the Los Angeles Colliseum (did I spell that right, I don't have use of the spell checker on this sight). I was in the drill team for Western High School in Anaheim and we use to do quite a few of the half time shows for the Rams football team, and although many schools participated in the pre show for the filming of the movie, only our band and drill team did the half time show. All the schools involved made a turkey for Thanksgiving and our drill team was the turkey's tail feathers - when they have shown this movie on local TV, they seem to cut this scene out. I've only seen the part we were in the movies at the theater and maybe once on TV. Anyone know where I can get a copy of this movie?

i have hever seen the godfather myself. but, i have seen two of the greatest movies of all time. Napoleon dynamite for one, and of course, monty python and the holy grail. has anyone seen these and liked them? write in!
