The Daily Ping

There were rumors of a Ping book, but those were started on the internet.

LibraryThing

There are quite a few ways one can catalog their book collection. There’s Book Collector, My Book Collection, Collection Explorer, All Consuming, and several others.

The new kid on the block, LibraryThing, is a worthy contender. LT takes a tagging-social networking approach, but does it in a more robust way than All Consuming. While it’s still in development, there’s new stuff being added very frequently, usually several times a week. At this point, I wouldn’t use it to replace my home copy of Book Collector, but I did pony up cash to use it as the online side of my book collection. I enter my books in Book Collector and then export the ISBNs to be imported into Library Thing. If anyone remembers 37 Signals’ book collection app, this one is like the next generation.

Here’s my collection thusfar.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
