My son says he is done with the show after they booted Chris last week. I did watch last night - via Tivo, so I could skip all the useless banter and just catch the 12 minutes of performance spread over the hour.

Katherine's 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was mighty impressive. If last night had been the final I think she would have locked up the victory with that performance.

I think all the guest stars are connected to Clive Davis somehow.

Katharine's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (her second "on the floor" performance of the season) was right up there with Fantasia's "Summertime." So far and away ahead of everything else on AI since it started.

My mom has voted for Elliot in the last two call-in sessions. Last night she voted 180 times. 180!! ONE-EIGHTY! argh, whyyyy? (I'm embarassed to say what she did!)

How did she get through 180 times? Last week I dialed close to (insert high number here) times for Chris and only got through 10 or 15 times! I voted for almost 2 hours.

Do you think people genuinely like Taylor or are they voting just to be jerks?

Dave pretty much said it. Katherine is getting hotter each week.

I think it's time for some washed up 80s band to try to return to glory by hiring an AI finalist for lead singer. I hearby nominate Chris as the lead singer for Van Halen 2006.

Maybe they can hire Ace to stand behind Eddie and hold him up on stage.

I am mortified for the human race that Taylor is in the top 2. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

This is the first season I've ever watched. I was a die hard Chris fan. If I can' t get Chris I may as well get Katharine.

I think if they had kept Mandisa she would have had a decent chance.

Again, how did Taylor even get to the top 12?

Mandisa could sing. I am sure she (and others) will be signed to major label contracts as soon as their Idol duties are over.

I want to see them on tour. Really I do. Ok, just a few of them, so I will go to the concession stand while the others are on stage.

Why do we think Kevin is not joining the tour? I thought they would be contractually obligated to.

I am reeeeally glad I don't listen to Top 40 radio; I may succeed in avoiding Taylor afterall!! (I suspect he will win; I will not be voting next week.)

From what I recall, having being dragged to the concert last year by my GF (Oh, the things we do for love..), it's only the top 10 who get to tour. Kevin finished 11th.

The Best Person Won AI!!!! Taylor is awesome and has a personality! He was only being himself on the stage and always performed well and never messed up! Katherine is the one that is a joke having to sing on the floor all the time. Come on....what was she trying to prove doing that! Some where over the rainbow.....PLEASE! Why sing a song like that on AI!!! Taylor was never put in the bottom two and it was for a reason. People should not judge him just because of his hair color and I have heard many say that about him.....WHATEVER! May the best one win and that was Taylor Hicks and he ROCKS!!!!! Yes....it was sad to see chris get voted off and he should have been up in the bottom 2 and not Katherine! If people are frustrated then they should be frustrated that Katherine pushed Chris off the show!!!
