You know those tables in the fitness magazines that tell you how much exercise you have to do to work off an indulgence? I bet burning off the bowl would be B-R-U-T-A-L!

When I first saw this commercial, I thought it looked nasty. But then I thought about it more and I started to realize that it combines everything I like at KFC. And then it's got cheese on it! So I may just try it some time. At least once. Just for the heart attack.

I live in Maryland which a big chicken producer. It is a big source of blue crabs. If you try to sell people a bad grade of crab the boys from Annapolis will show and make you pay for it. Ky Chicken is horrible. Little meat and lots of crap in the crust. Those undocumented aliens make really good chicken. Plenty of meat, juicy, and nothing added except some charcoal. The only time I go into a Ky Chicken is when it has Taco Bell. Eat South American chicken. Even though they do speak Spanish the chicken is great. Bolivian chicken alone is reason to fight the anti undocumented alien laws that they are trying to force on us.

Regarding the above image, do you think there's a gravy-splash when the chicken and corn hit the top of the bowl? eww.

But, chicken-bowl concept is a good one if you removed the 'fried' and the cheese. There was a great vegan/vegetarian friendly restaurant here in Rochester, NY (the Atomic Eggplant) that served the 'harvest-bowl' as an evening special: smashed potatoes with some skin and white-pepper, fresh mosaic corn kernals, cider-roasted (i think) carrots, some sort of nutty-tempeh and topped with fresh herbs and gravy. After Turkey-day I made up a similar concoction with turkey and MAN! IT WAS GOOD.

I had a friend in college who used to make mashed potatoes then would add corn and chicken to it and season with salt and pepper. Students would come from miles around to eat it!

Hm. I wonder if he had anything to do with the KFC bowl....if KFC ever tries a bowl of mixed peas, meatloaf, ketsup and potatoes I know who is responsible (Uuuuullll).

I wonder if this bowl would be better if the layers were in different order? Maybe form bottom to top it would go: Gravy, potatoes, cheese, corn, chicken.
Then the potatoes would have their gravy without getting the chicken soggy and the cheese would melt into both the potatoes and corn and the chicken would stay "non-soggy".

Just a thought.
