Bravo for overnight drop-off


This week I had a nail in my tire and needed to get it patched. Of course, working during the day makes it a little tough to drop off a car without making arrangements to swap cars with the wife, leave work early or get into work late, etc. Thankfully, my dealer offers overnight drop-off. I dropped my car off at 6:30pm and it was ready for me the next morning at 8am. Though not everything can be done by the overnight staff, they'll do most simple repairs and jobs. Nice.

For all the problems my dealer has with service (like, navigating the parking lot is impossible because there are cars on every square inch... and the service area inside is the same way, super cramped), this is one service they provide that I appreciate. It's helped us a couple times already.

Does anyone else's dealer do this? This is the first time I ran into this option.

Do they really have an overnight staff or did someone fix it at 6:30am? I'd be beyond impressed if they work overnight.

My dealership calls it Early Bird Service and I have done this for years.

When I dropped it off the guy said, "They'll actually probably be done by 11pm tonight, but you can pick it up in the morning." So, I guess they really do have late-night folks there. It may not be throughout the entire night, but perhaps well beyond normal business hours.

Wow. The guys here nearly rioted when the GM insisted they offer Saturday morning hours. Your place must be very busy!!

My dealer also does the early bird service.

Last time I had a nail in my tire, I patched it myself with a kit. The tire lasted for quite a while too.

I usually put the spare tire on the car and drop off the offending wheel and tire, then pick it up later. Am I old fashioned, or just obtuse?
