I drink a fair amount of tea, but most of it isn't terribly caffeinated. I also drink the occasional coffee or soda, but usually not more than one in a day. Thus, when I prepared coffee from beans this weekend (for the first time, I might add) and drank 2 1/4 mugs, I realized I had forgotten exactly what a caffeine buzz feels like.
Mug #1 kicked in and started off a day-long stretch of caffeinated productivity. I was a madman, cleaning everything, everywhere. Dishes, de-cluttering, cutting down a new permanant air filter to size, organizing CDs... I was on a tear. I got far more done yesterday than I've gotten done in a single day in a long, long time. Sure, I was a bit ADD about it all, not focusing on any one thing for longer than 20 minutes, but since I kept my pace up from 10am until 8pm, it didn't matter too much.
The best part: I didn't wake up with any sort of headache or lingering affects from the sudden injection of caffeine into my system.
I doubt I'll be trying this on a regular basis, but I've gotta say I'm pretty pleased with the results. For now, though, it's back to tea.
