That title is just begging for reader commentary, no?
The reason I ask is because I feel like I may be the only person on the planet (except for Merle) whose least favorite season is summer (but fall is the best). I'm glad that the days are now getting shorter again and while I enjoy the beach, I'm kind of over it... it doesn't hold much appeal for me anymore. And this week promises to be hot and humid, the type of weather that makes me pine for fall all that much more. I also don't enjoy taking any extended vacations in the summertime. I much prefer long car rides in mid-fall, when the leaves are changing color and you can drive with the windows down and not get blasted with hot air. Of course, being that the wife likes the beach and hates winter, we tend to be at odds when it comes to temperature and the seasons. As a concession, we'll hit the beach this summer, but I'm allowed to complain. Comments

I pretty much hate the summer. My body doesn't react well to high heat and I sometimes get nauseous just from the temperature. Plus I burn very quickly. I tend to enjoy spring and fall much more. Though, these days, spring can sometimes feel a lot like summer.

My kids were complaining last week that the library is too crowded during the summer. The prefer the quietness of the library when all the other kids are in school I guess.
Summer generally ceases to be special after we enter the workforce. We avoid vacationing in summer when the rest of humanity is at the beach. There are great deals to be had after Labor Day on beach rentals - and you usually have the beach to yourself.

I don't like the summers in the south. I went to Savannah last summer and it was hot even at midnight. I was sweating as soon as I stepped of of the train.

Summer is my least favorite season too, but I put up with it for the biking and ice cream :-)

I don't love summer either! That must be why we all get along so well.
I despise humidity and pollen. And I only run on freshly-fallen snow. Despite this, one of my favorite places in the world is the Anza Borrego Desert. I was there last month and did not mind the 99 degree, dry temperature. I am a conundrum.

I guess I'm the odd one. I love summer. I love heat. (I used to backpack in the Anza Borrego Desert years ago, JK.) Having said all that, once I moved to the Gulf and East, I learned all about humidity. EWWWW! Heat is one thing, humidity is another.
I'd rather sweath my heinie off than shiver. Ciao,

That's great, Steve! I can think of only a few places as beautiful as Anza.

Sounds like we aren't completely alone, Ryan.
Perhaps we can find some insane summer-loving people south of the equator and set up a sort of timeshare with them.
