I don't consider myself an autograph collector, but when I look at the number of things I have signed, it seems like I may have become one without even realizing it. In our family room, we have a wall of album covers and photos that I've gotten signed over the years by musicians, comedians, and actors. It's a pretty decent little collection. In addition, I have a bunch of CD covers signed that I just haven't gotten framed yet. Most of them are ones I've gotten myself in person (and are personalized since I don't plan on ever selling them), but a few have been purchased online, like a great set of
Golden Girls autographs my wife got me as a birthday gift one year.
In terms of books, I've got a few (some
catalogged here), but not a whole lot. Most of the books that I've gotten signed are from authors that I know, versus my music autographs which come from a mixture of people I know and people I've just met once at a concert or something.
There's one random autograph I'm excited about getting from a semi-obscure former horror actor from the mid-80s. I found out the name of the business he owns and learned that he happily signs stuff that's sent to him (with a SASE, of course!). I've got an original movie poster and a promotional photo I'll be sending his way before too long.
Also, I'll be going to a horror convention (NERD!) later this month and hope to stock up on a few nifty autographs there.
Any other autograph hounds in the audience?
