I happened across this show recently and I have to admit that it makes me laugh...I find it hard to change the channel when it's on.
I guess after a long day at work, idiotic simplicity is just what the doctor ordered.
Three of my favorite skits:
1. A guy swallows a goldfish and then attempts to throw it back up.
The goal here is to get the fish back up alive before it's digested. The other goal is to make the viewer gag. I have a pretty strong stomach but watching this made me have gag reflexes right there in my living room!
2. Man wrecks bicycle containing baby in baby seat.
I think this is my favorite - - this guy is riding a bicycle down the street in front of a busy sidewalk cafe (or anywhere there are lots of people). On the bike is a baby seat with a realistic looking doll in it. The rider purposely wipes out by hitting a parked car or the curb. He of course goes flying and the bike crashes to the pavement. Everyone around flies into a frenzy when they see the baby seat scrape against the cement. It's pretty cruel but I love seeing the faces of the bystanders. I'm perverse.
3. Man sets baby seat on the roof of the mini-van and drives off absentmindedly.
This is similar to #2 except the guy acts distracted while he is placing the baby carrier on the roof and looking for his car keys or having a conversation. He drives off while the doll is resting in it's seat on the roof. Bystanders run down the street yelling and waving their arms.

Jackass are portions of "Big Brother Skate Videos." It's weird that its on tv now since this summer I was reading stuff about it in a magazine, and then my roomate had seen some this summer and was telling me about them.

face it, some ppl think jackass is fun to watch, some don't. some ppl are idiots enough to perform the "stunts" with out looking in to and planning everthing before performing them, and the rest have an IQ of >50.

I could agree with the fact that the time the show airs is abit of misstake if you don't want kids to see the show, but still the show is not intended for kids, as it clearly states, and anyone clever/old enough to read can see that these stuns are not to be tried at home.

Jackass contains sketches taken from the CKy (Camp Kill yourself) videos. These could probably be regarded as a little more "hardcore" than jackass, but I wouldn't say they're any funnier (assuming you find Jackass amusing in the first place). They're basically a mixture of skateboarding, music from the band CKy, and various sketches performed by Bam Margera, who appears on Jackass. Smearing shit on sleeping buddies, urinating into sleeping bags as retaliation, getting hit by a car at the end of the credits.
I wouldn't bother checking out the CKy videos, but I just thought I'd explain some stuff.

there is a way to get cky videos for free k8, you download kazaa, from www.kazaa.com if you dont already have it, then you go into the thing that says search and go to the video part and type in cky you can get them all, all three cky's that is, there is also a few jackass episodes for download. this works best if you have high bandwith and if you dont do it with high bandwith it will still dload but it will take forever because it is real big

Ahhh yes, but I'd recommend downloading KaZaA Lite because KaZaA uses Adware and Spyware to track what you do (as does the new Morpheus preview). ;-) KaZaA Lite is a hack that eliminates all of that, along with the ubiquitous Bonzai Buddy b.s. which is also spyware.
