Let's travel back to a time when Michael Jackson wasn't simply a sideshow, and was producing really enjoyable pop music. (Also, before he took it upon himself to be called the "King of Pop," a title that clearly belongs to the band Toto.) What, then, is the best all around Jackson tune? I'm inclined to say "Don't Stop ('Til You Get Enough)," which is almost perfect disco pop. But "Billie Jean" is a close second. For our purposes any Jackson work can be included, but stuff from his modern era is decidedly weak compared to his work of the late 70s and early 80s. Comments

SO THERE!!! FROM: kaitlyn DATE: Saturday January 1, 2005 -- 2:10:44 am and plus you the amount he sold wrong FROM: Dave Walls [E-Mail] DATE: Saturday January 1, 2005 -- 9:05:25 am *sigh*Ok, class is in session: FROM: Matt DATE: Saturday January 1, 2005 -- 2:58:04 pm I hope he is innocent and proves it. FROM: kaitlyn DATE: Sunday January 2, 2005 -- 7:44:27 pm The only reason he sold twice as much albums in the 80’s is because of thriller and Americans brought half of the amount. If you take the amount Americans brought of the album off, it would be more like the others but if you take off the amount Americans brought off every other album the sales wouldn’t go down as much. So it would be more equal and proves his popularity didn’t go much. And have you noticed how most of the people on this board’s favourites songs are from the 90’s. with every other artist out there with a double album, there album always gets counted as two times as much because theres two cds, trust me I checked. And plus Michaels HIStory concert was his highest selling concert to date. 4.5 million people went and that’s the highest amount he’s ever had and he performed the least amount of shows that he ever has in a concert tour too, so that proves he drew bigger audiences. And guess what? He didn’t even go to the USA SO THERE!!! Notice when we sings right after the drum beat, it gives the whole song this motion. To the guy who said the video is silly and it hasn't stood the test of time, WOW you are wrong. I stumbled into this site, and was rivited at the commentary you made about Michael Jackson. FROM: Laurie DATE: Saturday July 2, 2005 -- 10:30:05 pm While I think it may be where the charges against Michael might have been ones that the family of the boy were falsely made up, I also have to say that due to the defense team using testimony of other celebrities claiming that they warned Michael to be leary of the family that it is where I also feel like it also is where Michael felt that due to the past family history of questionable acts that he could get away with molesting this child, and if this family was only out for money, then why didn't they just try to get that from Michael by using threats of making it public. He's not naive, if that were the case, then he should have wised up after the allegations against him the first time and if he was innocent that time, why would anyone in their right mind pay the accusor millions of dollars as a settlement. Although Michael is a where people will target him to extort money unjustly, I also believe that Michael fits the profile of a child predator. As to McCulkin as a witness for the defense - Of course Michael is not going to risk trying things with him, he was another celebrity and not a child who is from a family with questionable fraudulent acts in their backgrounds. Michael is like a "Chicken Hawk," he uses his wealth and celebrity status and focuses on children who are those that he feels their family's creditbility is questionable. He was found not guilty, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't, just that the prosecutors dropped the ball when it came to being able to prove he was guilty and lets face it, the childs family was shown to be very shady and the defense did their job in only proving that there was reasonable doubt. You can't convict someone when reasonable doubt is there. DIRTY DIANA IS THE BEST MJ SONG EVER!~
From: ZQ
My favorite MJ songs... hmmm.
In no particular order: Earth Song, Dirty Diana, The Way You Make Me Feel, Billie Jean, Black or White, You Are Not Alone, We Are the World, amongst many many more. I just want to make one thing clear. Go watch Michael's Primetime interview with Diane Sawyer from 1995. He gives a very plausible, logical reason for settling the 1993 drama through payment - he acted on advice from his lawyers. He paid up because the family wouldn't let up, they kept at it with no real evidence and neither party wanted to go into trial. His lawyers advised him to give the money and get it over with unless he wanted the whole thing dragged on... and the family didn't really care whether charges were dropped or not; they just wanted money. You say, why would MJ pay up and 'give in to extortion'? You now have a reason, whether you wish to believe it or not. Let me ask you this: why would parents of a boy who they said had been molested, drop charges and walk off with an average amount of settlement money, instead of fighting for the cause they supposedly believed in (that MJ was a pedofile), to make sure he was convicted for his horrible acts and sent to prison? Not to mention if they won the trial, they would have been paid a lot more. Thats about it. For now. And oh, if you don't get something I wrote, please, just ask, and don't start your post with an insult to my command over the English language. I don't profess to be an excellent writer. Also, another thing... for those of you accusing Michael, or his producers for coming up with the title 'King of Pop' - WRONG. This title was originally coined by Elizabeth Taylor in an unscripted speech on an award show - I forget the exact details of where and when, but do google it. Its all there in plain fact. And after she said it, the media sensationalised it.
