Best Michael Jackson Song

Let’s travel back to a time when Michael Jackson wasn’t simply a sideshow, and was producing really enjoyable pop music. (Also, before he took it upon himself to be called the “King of Pop,” a title that clearly belongs to the band Toto.)

What, then, is the best all around Jackson tune? I’m inclined to say “Don’t Stop (‘Til You Get Enough),” which is almost perfect disco pop. But “Billie Jean” is a close second.

For our purposes any Jackson work can be included, but stuff from his modern era is decidedly weak compared to his work of the late 70s and early 80s.

If MJ wasn't such a freak now, it would be easier for me to babble on about how much I love a lot of his material.

It's hard to pick just one, because Michael's music has changed with the times throughout his career. Even though he is a walking basket case right now, some of his latest offerings ("Butterflies") are just as funky as the classics.

If you made me choose just one, I'd say "Thriller" (LP Version). If it was a top 5...

1. Thriller (LP Version)
2. Billie Jean
3. Human Nature
4. Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
5. Butterflies (Dangerous Album)

Now I'm just waiting for the Stevie Wonder Ping, and I'll do a Marcus Mackey sized posting. ;) (That was a compliment, Marcus..;p)

"Beat It" was great, but really hasnt held up in the test of time, IMO. C'mon, you see the video nowadays, with a gang fight breaking out into dancing, and you just laugh because it's silly.

Song is still good, but it just doesnt sound as hard as it used to.

Michael is the most talented pop artist in the history of music! period! THE KING OF POP! He can do everything sing, write songs, dance, perform, amazing live shows, video clips etc etc...

He is a musical genius but a very disturbed one...Such a freak!!! But his music is irresistable!

My fav. songs are "EARTH SONG" and "THEY DONT CARE ABOUT US"

And to "Dave Walls" :
Butterflies is from "invincible" album not "dangerous"

Its unfair to say the new songs he has written are weak! I love his new song more actually :)

I like all his songs but my favourites are:

1) Earth Song(1995)
2) Remember The Time(1991)
3) HIStory(1995)
4) Unbreakable(2001)
5) Working Day And Night(1979)
6) Music And Me(1974)
7) Speechless(2001)

I know many people love thriller song but well...its my least favourite...

Anyway what ever happens Michael Jackson is still the Artist Of The Millenium, Living Legend and a Musical Genius in my eyes...

I believe he is innocent...They just wanna get his money

You probably havent heard but D.A changed the dates of "so-called" molestation coz MJ was out of the city at the time..now what is that??? Search it on foxnews if u want to...He is just a disturbed misunderstood figure who spent his entire life raising HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for sick children all around the world!

Michael Jackson is the greatest musical genius of all time. There will never be another performer like him. He has made some of the worlds most beautiful music and long-lasting music. All the lies about child molestation are just another attempt to destroy and cripple this wonderful man. He is 100% innocent and totally misunderstood. Anyway, my top 5 MJ songs, in no order, are:

And then, the Eighties: "Say, say, say" with Mc Cartney, "Beat it" his body was a dancing machine, "Billy Jean" live, with the glove stuff, the Terminator glasses, the funny backward sliding walk, .... real pop jewels......well...he was an outright genius...I didnt like Thriller quite much, actually. I also like "We're the world", "heal the world", and the video of "Black and White". I also like that song he sang when he was a small boy, with the J5.

thats another thing that annoys me. people in america are stupid. they keep saying how bad michaels recent music is and how poor the albums are selling and that hes gone downhill, but thats ONLY in the USA. worldwide his album still sell 10's of millions and he was actually more popualr in the 90's then he was in the 80's in every other country but the usa. so shut the hell up because if i was a singer i think i would care WAYYYY more about the rest of the world then just the usa

Worldwide Album Sales:

1980's: (Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad) 91 Million Copies. (OTW: 15million, Thriller: 51million, Bad: 25million)

1990's: (Dangerous, HIStory, Blood on the Dance Floor): 46 Million Copies (Dangerous: 27 Million, HIStory: 15 Million, BOTDF: 4 Million)

Whoops.

Blood on the dancefloor - 6 million
Invincible - 8 million

*sigh*Ok, class is in session:

1) We're debating whether or not Michael Jackson was more popular in the 90's or in the 80's. Therefore, we don't count his 2001 album, Invincible.

2) The numbers I gave may be slightly older (2003 numbers), but they still made the point. According to both sets of numbers (yours and mine), Michael sold twice as many albums in the 80's than in the 90's, with the numbers tailing off tremendously as the 90's progressed.

3) You don't count both CD's in HIStory when counting sales. It's one CD package.

4) So..not as many Americans bought Michael's 90's albums, but he's still more popular? Hey, falling off more than 50 percent in a decade isn't THAT big a deal, isn't it?

Thanks for making my points for me.

i meant in terms of concerts and how much they loved him...

We love him so much, we've accused him TWICE of child molestation!

To quote you.....SO THERE.

The only reason he sold twice as much albums in the 80ís is because of thriller and Americans brought half of the amount. If you take the amount Americans brought of the album off, it would be more like the others but if you take off the amount Americans brought off every other album the sales wouldnít go down as much. So it would be more equal and proves his popularity didnít go much. And have you noticed how most of the people on this boardís favourites songs are from the 90ís. with every other artist out there with a double album, there album always gets counted as two times as much because theres two cds, trust me I checked. And plus Michaels HIStory concert was his highest selling concert to date. 4.5 million people went and thatís the highest amount heís ever had and he performed the least amount of shows that he ever has in a concert tour too, so that proves he drew bigger audiences. And guess what? He didnít even go to the USA  SO THERE!!!

Oh yeah and you said we donít count invincible because it wasnít from the 90ís well then we donít count off the wall cos it was from the 70ís not the 80ís. I donít care if it was one year off the 80ís, invincible was only 2 years off the 90ís.

And anyway I donít give a crap what you say, me and the rest of the world know the truth weíll let your dumb self and the rest of the dumb Americans think what you want. Any way it was proven this year that America is the dumbest country in the world AND the fattest.

Wow, your arguments (like your command of the English language) has so many holes in it, I don't know where to start..
--
The only reason he sold twice as much albums in the 80ís is because of thriller and Americans brought half of the amount

..and what's your point? Thriller was Michael's best album. Americans like good music. Aaaaaaaand?

If you take the amount Americans brought of the album off, it would be more like the others but if you take off the amount Americans brought off every other album the sales wouldnít go down as much. So it would be more equal and proves his popularity didnít go much.

Umm..if I can translate that, you think that Michael was more popular in the 90's than 80's because Americans didn't buy his 90's stuff as much? Wow, my head is spinning at your logic.

And have you noticed how most of the people on this boardís favourites songs are from the 90ís

Sure...
Paul loves Gwen Stefani!

with every other artist out there with a double album, there album always gets counted as two times as much because theres two cds, trust me I checked.

No, no, no. There may be two CD's, but there is only ONE PACKAGE. Nelly released two albums: Sweat and Suit. That counts as two. TWO PACKAGES. Michael Jackson? One. Pretty easy to count for most humans. I work in radio, reading charts everyday.

And guess what? He (and his little tour)didnít even go to the USA  SO THERE!!!

I'm so heartbroken.

Oh yeah and you said we donít count invincible because it wasnít from the 90ís well then we donít count off the wall cos it was from the 70ís not the 80ís. I donít care if it was one year off the 80ís, invincible was only 2 years off the 90ís.

Off The Wall was released in the fall of 1979. Invincible was released in 2001. Off the Wall's sales didn't tail off until early 1981 or so. Invincible was still being written in the 90's.

Still, whatever. Leave Invincible in there. I'm feeling generous. The numbers don't lie. Michael's 90's sales pale in comparison to the 80's, even with the added bonus of a 2001 album.

And anyway I donít give a crap what you say...

Of course you don't, that's why you typed 286 words...because you don't care!

...me and the rest of the world know the truth...

So will a jury in California when they hear about Michael and little boys.....AGAIN.

Any way it was proven this year that America is the dumbest country in the world AND the fattest.

For someone insulting my intelligence, it would be nice to spell properly/use punctuation correctly/etc.

For the record, I'm a Michael Jackson FAN. I like his 70's and 80's stuff, and even some of his 90's and 00's. Still, it's extremely naive to think that he was more popular anywhere in the 90's than the 80's.

As for the dumb/fat remarks, you aren't worth the breath to reply to that. So there.

Americans like good music

Ok you just lost your credibility right there. when usher is being marketed as the greatest star in America it proves how crappy music is there.

Ok what I mean by that is that thriller has sold 59 million world wide right? And it has sold 26 million in America. So if you take the sales off it has sold 33 million worldwide. Which with history it has sold 36 million worldwide, if you take Americans sales off which is only 2 million you still get 34 million worldwide.

And have you noticed how most of the people on this boardís favourites songs are from the 90ís

Sure...

Ha! You couldnít even think of a comeback because I jarded you and you know your wrong hahahahahaha!!!!

And guess what? He (and his little tour) SOdidnít even go to the USA THERE!!!

I'm so heartbroken.

Huh!!!! AGAIN!!!! Nothing to say!!!!! Because your WRONG!!!!!

And anyway I donít give a crap what you say...

Of course you don't, that's why you typed 286 words...because you don't care!

Well when I was writing it I did care but then after I realized I didnít. now that im writing this im writing it for non-americans who I actually do care about (even though I do care about Michael who is American but he is the only one)

...me and the rest of the world know the truth...

So will a jury in California when they hear about Michael and little boys.....AGAIN.

Why do you have to keep bringing up his personal life, this argument is about his music popularity. And plus do you notice he is only being accused by Americans even though he has tons of child friends all across the world. And its only Americans like you that think heís guilty the rest of the world noís the truth that he is innocent.

Any way it was proven this year that America is the dumbest country in the world AND the fattest.

For someone insulting my intelligence, it would be nice to spell properly/use punctuation correctly/etc.

What the hell did I spell wrong in there? Nothing you idiot proper English spelling is different to stupid American slang.

As for the dumb/fat remarks, you aren't worth the breath to reply to that. So there.

Because thereís nothing that you can say, because itís not meant to be an insult itís just the truth! Their FACTS!! You Americans are eating to many supersize maccas meals. *sigh* In order for there to be an intelligent debate, the other side has to be intelligent. I don't have that luxury, so I'm out. Before I untie the other hand from behind my back, I got one or two things to say:

As for your anti-American rhetoric, calling us "dumb" or "fat"..you know nothing about me. I don't eat McDonalds. I'm not severely overweight. And really, I don't give a fuck about people who would prejudge me (or my country) without making any effort to get to know me or visit my country. Even if I was severely overweight, who the hell are you to run your fucking mouth about strangers thousands of miles away?

I havent made this a personal debate (up till now) because I don't know you. I don't care to know someone so small minded. Your petty little rant about Americans shows your ignorance about others and personally, proves what an arrogant bitch you are.

In other words, go fuck yourself. Seriously.

matt --

It was a bit over the top, for sure. More than I would usually carry a Ping battle. I got very frustrated with someone who was, clearly, not reading what I was writing and throwing out some insults against people like me and others.

I am a Michael Jackson fan, but my opinion of him, personally, has changed. There is simply too much evidence floating around about Michael and the child molestation charges (see The Smoking Gun's special section for me to ignore it.

No one can ever discredit what Michael Jackson has done as a musician, and someone would be a fool to do so. However, his personal life has shadowed his music career and forever stained his legacy.

I, for one, am very sad that the Michael Jackson I loved as a little boy is no longer here. To me, he is dead.

I smell dumbass mode coming, but before it does, I just have this to say:

I wanted to say on the Gwen Stefani Ping, that even though Paul thinks she can't sing, who cares? She's hot and she's cool. She's also an ADULT FEMALE.

But I couldn't say that because that Ping's been dumbassed just as sure as this one will be.

PS. Hey Ethan Coventry:

If you're under 12 years old, Michael love you too, or would love to. Just have a drink of his magic Pepsi.

Can you believe people are defending a guy who drugged kids and then introduced the old adult size ding dong up the teeny kiddie poop chute? Who are these people? Just because MJ's rich and famous he's free to run amok with pederasty with the approval of these people?

I think all of Michael's albums should be burned, his songs banned (that is, if he's convicted), and all of his assets given over to child protection charities.

If it's all a big misunderstanding, well, heh, heh, sorry Mikey. Guess that's what happens when you have little kids for overnight guests. Maybe you're not a child molester, you're just REALLY FRIGGIN' STUPID. If Michael really is that stupid, he deserves to lose all that cash that he's going to pay in legal bills to protect his freedom.

What a world.

now i no this has nothing to do with his songs but.................

There is something i dont understand. Why do most people hate michael jackson but love elvis presley. Elvis Presley is seen as this huge God almighty creature, and michael is seen as a disgusting physco freak. If i asked you why you hate michael and why you think hes crazy you would say because he has destroyed himself physically, he (possibly) molested children and he dangled a child over a balcony. But have you all forgotten that elvis did the EXACT same things, so why isnt elvis called crazy or hated as much?

Obviously when they both started out calling them really popular singers was an understatment. they were HUGE!!! I mean elvis has sold over a billion records and michael has the highest selling album of all time worldwide. (note. i said WORLDWIDE, i know its not in the usa).

number 1. ok michael jackson had plastic surgery that destroyed the OUTSIDE of his face. Elvis took drugs and overdosed numerous times, he ate a hell of a lot of food which...well everyone saw the effects of that...he completely destroyed the INSIDES of his body which i would call much worse considering the plastic surgery michael had cant KILL him or mess his insides.

Number 2. Now im not saying michael definetly molested those boys but even if he did why is that any worse then elvis molesting a 14 year old . is it the fact that elvis molested a GIRL that makes it ok? now if thats the case thats discriminating against gays. and sure you can argue that the person (priscilla) elvis molested consented to it but its the law that , consentual or not, you got to jail for having sex with ANYONE under the legal age. just ask the 42 year old woman who CONSENTUALLY had sex with a 12 year old boy and ended up going to jail for it. 6 years later as soon as she got out of jail, she ended up marrying him!! what a waste of 6 years of her life! Now i actually believe that no matter how old someone is if its consensual sex then its alright, but the fact is the law doesnt! and if this poor women had to go to jail then so should have elvis.

number 3. the whole baby dangling incident. that was ONE time we have ever seen michaels bad parenting skills, and even if there are more times can you IMAGINE what elvis was letting or doing to lisa marie when he was alive. i mean when your on drugs all the time your minds not going to be that sane. lisa marie was in sooo many dangerous situations at graceland with just elvis its frightenting. and i have heard some crazy storys that have happened there come out of lisa maries own mouth (even though she thought of them as fond memories).

so although (as hard as it is to believe) i am also an elvis fan as i am a michael fan. it just annoys me that just because elvis is dead he gets away with it and everybody forgets. all i can say is hopefully when michael dies all his "badness" is forgotten and that in the end his GREATNESS shines through.

Beat It and ABC are among my favorites. I had always thought he was a freak until I listened to a few song. I'm not old enough to have known Michael Jackson's popularity before he ruined his face and his reputation, but now I see why some people idolize him so much. It's a shame he had to mess it up. He could've been one of the most loved singers of all time.

"Beat it" is powerful, and amazing. Although a lot of his songs are, I think "Beat it" really captures something. If you listen, really listen to the song as if it is the first time, loudly along in your room, you will rediscover it. Notice when we sings right after the drum beat, it gives the whole song this motion. To the guy who said the video is silly and it hasn't stood the test of time, WOW you are wrong. Watch that video again, really watch all the dancing in the music video, I think it is the best choreographed video I have ever seen. The dance sequence goes SO well to the music, and look so perfect.

Dave Walls-how dare u say that Michael is a child molester

It was pretty easy, actually. I just reviewed the evidence in play, and came up with my opinion. And for now, that's all it is. Opinion.

14) Blood On The Dance Floor
15) Thriller

ugh..seriously? Thriller has got to be, at the least, a top 10 choice. Blood On the Dance Floor is mediocre, at best.

I love him so much and anyway who says something negative about him or his career can get into an arguement with me and believe I will win so Dave Walls if you want an arguement come ahead cause I'm Invincible just like Michael

Nah..I'm done arguing. Now, I just sit back and watch the bleak minded continue to drink the Kool Aid handed out by Michael's lawyers and umbrella holders. Drink up, peon.

Hey Guys,
1. does it really matter what MJ today is, personally, compared to what he sings, writes, etc.?
2. Supose he does turn out to be a paedophile. How many other celebrities are out there who are not recognised for the same/similarly condemnable acts?
3. Lets just sit back and enjoy his talent (for he has that) and forget what he looks like, his court cases etc.

If you like music, you have to admire some ppl, and MJ manages to be very much there in the list. So let him be there. and leave his reputation aside, for a different post, on his morals/his life/etc.
Work and Life need to be distinctly separated - most times. Otherwise talent may never make it.

I knew he was innocent coz;

1) No-one who is a paedophille, declares it on national televsion in an interview..daah! I think they'd do the opposite.
2). The prosecution had no hard evidence, nothing on MJ's computer etc
( am sure the police would have done a "dawn raid, as it was such a serious allegation).
3) The prosecution was "clutching at straws" otherwise they would not have asked for previous allegations to have been brought in to consideration during the trial, ( which is not usual practice) .

The only crime MJ has committed is one of one of complete niavity and innocence, being too trusting. He should realise he cannot experience "normality" by mixing with "normal " ordinary people.

Micheal Jackson is portrayed as a freak etc and has been done so for years.
Undoubtedly he is eccentric in his behaviour due to his unconventional upbringing and experiencinf fame at a very early age.
However, it is often forgotten that he is just a musician ( and a very brilliant one) and not a politician. He does not change the world just spreads an immense amount of joy and pleasure to people all over the world, through his music.
Allso, we the public dont know how the other stars lead their lices, how "normal" are they? Is it normal to have a pet lizard and have to have a personal chef for your lizard as Jim Carey does?
MJ has gone overboard with his surgery but all the stars have surgery and they all deny it.

okay enuf of this soap box. I m gonna step down now!!!! sorry folks!

I AM WAITING WITH ABATED FOR HIS WORLD TOUR. HURRY UP MIKEY!!!!!!

In my opinion , Thriller is his best albumn.
best song? I think thats very personal , depends on what it means to you and your own experiences.

This is a response to Dave Walls. I stumbled into this site, and was rivited at the commentary you made about Michael Jackson.
It is obvious that Michael Jackson did not sell as many albums in the 90's as he did in the 80's; there is irrefutable prove on that. But you have to admit, that nobody, not even himself, can compete with the numbers he racked up in the 80's. And that has been the problem since that time. Everybody (including Michael to his detriment) has been comparing his latest albums to his Thriller success, which was unprecedented, and in truth will never happen again. If you take Thriller off the equation, his sales compared to his contemporaries or any other artists have been excellent.
Look, I think we agree, as Michael Jackson fans, that he is in fact a musical genius, he has done a great deal for the music business, and has been a great pioneer and very influential and inspirational to many new artists. I love his music period.
His antics sometimes throws me off, but deep inside, I believe he is a good person, just trying to give back. He was acquitted on all charges, even the misdemeanor ones, that the prosecutors and the judge added at the end of the trial. You seem like a reasonable person, and I believe you have a lot of common sense, and if you followed the trial carefully in neutral venues, not in all the cable news channels that were clearly biased against Michael, you would know that there was no way that he was guilty. There was absolutely no prove or no evidence that he did anything wrong; the timeline also did not add up, it did not make sense. I followed this trial meticulously, and read the transcripts, and I am convinced of his innocence. The grand jury was held by the prosecution, Michael Jackson nor his defense was there to present the other side; I don't know if you have heard, but the saying goies "you can indict a ham sandwich" in a grand jury. (BTW, the grand jury transcripts wer illegaly leaked) in order to infect public opinion (obviously their tactics worked with you); I'm just giving you the other side, I know if you were in trouble, you would like people to present both sides and ask them to open their minds and give you the benefit of the doubt. So I ask you to do the same for Michael Jackson. Insults and terrible attacks don't help anybody. I thank you for giving the Michael Jackson fans of the world a venue to give their opinions about Michael; and I do thank you for being a fan!
My favorites songs are:

1- Butterflies
2- Whatever Happens
3- Man in the Mirror
4- On the Line
5- Smooth Criminal
and so many others!

While I think it may be where the charges against Michael might have been ones that the family of the boy were falsely made up, I also have to say that due to the defense team using testimony of other celebrities claiming that they warned Michael to be leary of the family that it is where I also feel like it also is where Michael felt that due to the past family history of questionable acts that he could get away with molesting this child, and if this family was only out for money, then why didn't they just try to get that from Michael by using threats of making it public. He's not naive, if that were the case, then he should have wised up after the allegations against him the first time and if he was innocent that time, why would anyone in their right mind pay the accusor millions of dollars as a settlement. Although Michael is a where people will target him to extort money unjustly, I also believe that Michael fits the profile of a child predator. As to McCulkin as a witness for the defense - Of course Michael is not going to risk trying things with him, he was another celebrity and not a child who is from a family with questionable fraudulent acts in their backgrounds. Michael is like a "Chicken Hawk," he uses his wealth and celebrity status and focuses on children who are those that he feels their family's creditbility is questionable. He was found not guilty, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't, just that the prosecutors dropped the ball when it came to being able to prove he was guilty and lets face it, the childs family was shown to be very shady and the defense did their job in only proving that there was reasonable doubt. You can't convict someone when reasonable doubt is there.

In response to Laurie's comments on the Michael Jackson trial:

1) First of all, from you assinine comments I have to believe you are not a professional in the pedophilia field. Are you? I'm no expert either, but from what I have read on the condition, pedophiliacs don't pick and chose victims. If they are around children and they have the opportunity they will molest them. They also, pick vulnerable victims, like this kid who had cancer, and groom them for a few months before they strike. Well, Michael Jackson knew this kid at his most vulnerable, TWO YEARS before these allegations started. If he were a pedophile, he would have struck long before then. And like you said Michael Jackson is not stupid, why in the hell would he start molesting this kid when there was a police and child services investigation going on, and the whole world was focused on this?
Also, no child pornography was found, no child pornography sites were found in all his computers. Nothing! The two books that they made you think were horrific were legal art books that were seized in 1993!; and were gifts from fans. All they found were legal adult magazines, which are bought and read by millions of males in this country. He also hired a lawyer Feb 8 because of what happened in 93. He was afraid this family might allege things again. This lawyer (Geragos) conducted surveillance against this family (all legal), and this family was being kept away from Michael during the period these alleged acts took place. There is plenty of testimony from the accuser (who was very upset that he was being ignored by Michael Jackson) and the mother.

3) For Michael Jackson to be stupid enough to start molesting this kid at this time, because he knew that they had a history of this and this could get him off, is ludricous! First, how do you know he knew right away about the history of this family? His lawyers were investigating but who knows when they found out? And to put himself in a position to be arrested and have this incident ruin his career, is absolutely ludicrous! The last thing he would want is another allegation. Michael Jackson is very smart. He wants his popularity back here in the US. more than anything. What you are suggesting is insane and idiotic to say the least.

4) If you followed this case meticulously, which I'm sure you did not, you would realize that all the bogus charges (kidnapping) and the changing stories, inconsistencies, and lies from the entire family was suspicious to say the least. This was a family affair scam. No forensic evidence was found nothing!

5) They went to two civil attorneys (money lawyers) before going to the police. One lawyer (who was the same involved in the settlement in 93) told Larry King (and there is transcripts of this) that he did not want to take this case(Arvizos family) because he suspected the mother was in it just to scam money from Michael Jackson. Moreover, a conviction would have sealed the deal for them. They would have been able to sue Michael for millions!

Next time, think before you start spewing nonsense. If you did not follow this trial (read transripts, follow both sides) you should be very careful what you say. Of course it is a free country, and people like you, and there are millions, unfortunately, will keep saying idiotic nonsense until the cows come home. I cannot control, that, but I can also speak out for the side of the truth. Its people like you that make this country an embarrassment.

This is to Patrice, I agree that a child molester doesn't pick and choose his victims, however, my point was only this, that using Cauly McCulkin to testify that he wasn't ever touched by Michael didn't prove wasn't proof that this kid was molested. I never mentioned anything about the magazines that they used or mentioned any evidence either.

Since you mentioned the characteristics of a pedofile being one that you say I must know nothing about, sorry, but I do, my son was a victim years ago when he was a young boy and Michael does show that he could very well be one. I am sorry, but anyone who is innocent, does not pay out, what was it 20 million or more to the previous allegations before this last case. He very well may have been targeted this last time and he left himself open to be a target. I never mentioned anything about the kidnapping shit, as I really didn't believe all that. As to your comment about whether Michael knew about the family's history, isn't that one the defense used by calling other celebrities who said they were contacted by this family and let Michael know they were leary of this family? It isn't so assinine to also give some thought as to where any pedofile might not see that to be where if the child told on them that their credibility wouldn't be worthy of believing. The biggest issue is the fact that due to Michael's past issues with allegations of molesting a child, and the fact that he settled the issue in civil court, isn't a act of a innocent person. Furthermore, if this family was out to extort money, they still haven't that I have heard of, as of yet filed a civil suit, which they still could do, and could still win, just like it was done on OJ Simpson. A grown man does not have sleep overs in their bed with children, and anyone who has had allegations like he did, is the person who is assinine. The prosecutor didn't have the necessary evidence, so I agree that the transcripts of the trial don't prove beyond a reasonable doubt, they failed at proving it, that is all.

My possible theories to you may be ones that you feel are assinine of me to say, that however, does not make them any less those that are possible and there are many cases of pedofiles as well as criminals who have used a personal history to be to their advantage because of their not being credible as well. His past allegations should have been where of all people where he never should have placed himself ever again to be able to be accused of molesting a child. He may be innocent, but then again his life style of hanging with little boys, sleeping with them, buying them things are all signs of being what is known as a "Chicken Hawk," which is the type of things that my son's pedofiler was doing, so it in my opinion is where your someone who is stupidly naive to believe that Michael has never acted inappropriately, hello, does a innocent person give in to extortion, which is what he did, if he was innocent in 93. I think not.

While I'd admit that Michael Jackson is a talented writer, singer and dancer, I find the music he owns but DIDN'T write to be MUCH better. That stuff was by an older group... perhaps you may have heard of them... They called themselves "The Beatles."

(And to think, it was Paul McCartney who confided to Michael that he ought to "own" music. What WAS he thinking?

"Not mine, ya poofter!," I can hear him saying now.

alright for all yall haters out thurr...yall can drop your heads in shame because if you dislike this phenomenon then you obviously don't know anything about music. there are many talented bands and solo artists out there that have talent however...no one NO ONE has ever created such a magnificent image, such groundbreaking statistics and incredible moves that all you average joes wouldn't even attempt because your not that coordinated to do so. i hope people can see the true light through michael jackson like i do and can turn into someone that respects his undeniable talent because you know you could never do anything that comes close to mj's calibre....now for the top 5 songs... id have to say (not in order) that wanna be starting something, the way you make me feel, dirty diana, billie jean and rock with you are the best but PYT and human nature are very close with those.

Even if I wasDavid Wells (which I'm not, it's a joke from this freaking Ping), how does that "expain" my ranting?

Maybe I was passed out from my drinking over the last...6 months...that "expains" my abscence from the Ping. Yeah, that's the ticket.

DIRTY DIANA IS THE BEST MJ SONG EVER!~

ZQ May 26, 2008, 3:20 am

My favorite MJ songs… hmmm.

In no particular order: Earth Song, Dirty Diana, The Way You Make Me Feel, Billie Jean, Black or White, You Are Not Alone, We Are the World, amongst many many more.

I just want to make one thing clear.

Go watch Michael’s Primetime interview with Diane Sawyer from 1995.

He gives a very plausible, logical reason for settling the 1993 drama through payment – he acted on advice from his lawyers. He paid up because the family wouldn’t let up, they kept at it with no real evidence and neither party wanted to go into trial. His lawyers advised him to give the money and get it over with unless he wanted the whole thing dragged on… and the family didn’t really care whether charges were dropped or not; they just wanted money. You say, why would MJ pay up and ‘give in to extortion’? You now have a reason, whether you wish to believe it or not. Let me ask you this: why would parents of a boy who they said had been molested, drop charges and walk off with an average amount of settlement money, instead of fighting for the cause they supposedly believed in (that MJ was a pedofile), to make sure he was convicted for his horrible acts and sent to prison? Not to mention if they won the trial, they would have been paid a lot more.

Thats about it. For now. And oh, if you don’t get something I wrote, please, just ask, and don’t start your post with an insult to my command over the English language. I don’t profess to be an excellent writer.

Also, another thing… for those of you accusing Michael, or his producers for coming up with the title ‘King of Pop’ – WRONG. This title was originally coined by Elizabeth Taylor in an unscripted speech on an award show – I forget the exact details of where and when, but do google it. Its all there in plain fact. And after she said it, the media sensationalised it.

Smooth Criminal is godlike.

For me i personally think Man in the Mirror is the best. I think it has great lyrics. And it also spreads a really good message to those who listen to it.

I personally love “You are not alone”. Now that he’s gone, it breaks my heart, but I still love it.

What is this then?
