You’ve Got [bleep!]

I don’t know if this is a good idea or not. I don’t think so. But here’s the deal: Eudora now includes MoodWatch which will monitor your outgoing (and incoming) email and let you know if it might get your goat.

So if I send Ryan an email that says, "Hey pal, your last Ping was a pile of doo-doo and I was the one who hacked into your stupid domain!", MoodWatch will come up with a cutesy-poo message telling me that the language is "hot", with a picture of chili peppers.

This is progress? Why can’t people think for their [bleep]ing selves anymore?! -pm

Man, this is a pointless feature. Seems to me Eudora might want to do something like, say, stop the app from crashing so often when using IMAP? Just a thought.

Do we really want machines deciding when we should or should not be happy?
All I need are happy faces to indicate that someone actually cared enough to email me.

Sorry to Bypass the subject matter but I just learned with less then a days notice the World Famous Wake Up show in LA on the beat radio was dropped. This is another foul supression of hip-hop that can be used to uplift a mass in bondage. The beat wanted more comercial materialistic, myspoginistic, and sexist music played on their show. Basically this is a destruction of the diversity of LA radio by the powers that be at radio one.

In 2090 we will all be required to wear devices over our mouths that bleep offensive words, and re-arrange insulting sentences.

Only if George Bush gets elected. Kidding! Kidding.

I installed Eudora 5.0 yesterday and toyed around a bit with the stupid peppers. It is, without a doubt, worthless.

A letter filled with nothing but the "F" word garners no warning. But a letter that says "You're a piece of crap" gets one pepper.

It may do context searching, but it can't tell the tone behind a letter. I realize the idea is that the person on the other end might not realize that something is supposed to be read a certain way, but who the hell is actually going to make use of this as anything other than a novelty?

I'm just proud that at least half of the letters from me got at least 1 pepper and some of them got 3. Yeehaw!
