Holiday Check

Ryan is currently in an infinite loop.

Given that Christmas and New Year’s fall on weekends this year, how is your place of employment handling it?

Technically, my company gives Christmas Day and New Year’s Day proper as holidays, but this year we got the Eves off (even though those are not technically company holidays.) I say it’s “good.” The nicest thing, of course, would be to have this entire week off. That’s a holiday!

I got Friday off. NYE's holiday is given as a floating holiday. I'm floating mine to the day after MLK Jr.'s Day.

We got the Eves off.

New Year's was a little tricky because we hadn't listed it on our 2004 holiday calendar, but by our policy (if the holiday falls on a Saturday, then Friday is a day off), 2004 would have an extra day off and 2005 would have one less day off. We ended up changing the holiday calendar about a month before Christmas to make it clear that December 31st would be the day off.

Well I have the entire week off. I work in a school and since they are closed, we get off too. I only had to come in for about 2 hours on monday to do some work on our computer network that could not be done when the staff is online. but technically we didnt have to come in at all :)

We got the eves off since the holiday falls on a weekend. It's nice because it creates a three-day weekend.

My dad got off like the whole time i am off from school. He has been at the same company for 10 years so he gets like a crap load of vacation.

What is this then?
