Console Games

Back when the original Nintendo Entertainment System came out, I was convinced that it would be part of a short-lived fad. But no – people still love video game consoles and, for a lot of games, it’s the way to go versus playing on a computer.

I can’t say I’ve fully gotten into them, but last year I really got into – of all things – Tiger Woods PGA Golf on the PlayStation. It was a really engrossing game even though in real life, I couldn’t hit a golf ball a hundred yards. I still sometimes wax for the nostalgic, simple games like Kaboom! and Ms. Pac-Man, but there are some good titles out there nowadays. Has the current wave of consoles got you?

We have a PS2 - however my son spends way more time playing it than I do.

My brother in law just got the Atari classic console. It has all the old video games from the late 1970s on it without cartridges. He's got it hooked up to a projection TV and it's great at parties because the games aren't complicated, the graphics are whimsical, they're often two players against each other like Pong and Combat, and it just gets better the more beers you have.

Not too long ago I bought an original NES console on eBay. It came with all of the original Mario Games (Mario Arcade, Super Mario Brother I, II and III). It even came w/ the infamous Duck Hunt gun.

Sure, I paid way more than I should have but...there's something really awesome about classic 2D games that the new games just can't match.

I've got a SNES, a Genesis, 3 PS2s, a GameCube, and an Xbox. If I had my druthers (and some money), I'd get an Xbox 360 when it came out, too. I'm a geek! :)

My brother bought me my first NES and then my SNES. My friend gave me his N64 with a few games. I also have a Sega Game Gear and an Odyssey 2 that my brother had. All it needs is a new power supply. I haven't played any console games in about 2 years.

What is this then?
