Breakfast Time

I know it’s supposed to be easy: wake up, take a shower, eat some breakfast, out the door to work. But sometimes… I just don’t feel like eating right away in the morning. Am I alone?

The thorn is that it’s then hard to eat breakfast at work. I can pick up breakfast, sure, but that tends to be in a sandwich format and generally not very good. (Cheap, but not very good.) I can bring breakfast with me but there still isn’t a super-great way to transport cereal and milk. Besides, what if I want something more? And eating breakfast at work just seems weird.

What do Pingers do for breakfast? And, want to go get some?

I'll note for reference that this is similar to this Ping, but I'm more interested on when Pingers eat now. Things change. Voices deepen, people get older, Pings evolve.

Whadd'ya know, our breakfasts have evolved since the last ping.

We eat at about 5:45am, without fail on weekdays. On Sunday, we put together a big batch of rice and beans, or curry, or lentils. A small bowl of this goes in the micro for a minute, and we're set.

It took a while to make the habit stick, but I don't think I've skipped breakfast in several years now.

Nada. I know, I know, but with the late hours my job has me at right now, I'm usually sleeping in the morning.

I do miss the occasional morning of making my famous French Toast. I'm due for one of those days.

Lately I've become addicted to chilaquiles for breakfast. Make a big portion on Sunday morning and they last a while and taste as good as new with a generous dollop of fresh Mexican cream on them. When they run out I'm stuck with boring old huevos rancheros for the rest of the week.

I don't often eat breakfast. However, when I do it's a FULL BLOWN PIG OUT. 3 eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, wheat or rye toast, scrapple, if I can find it... oh yeah, and homefries or some other kind of potato.

or a hamburger loaded with everything.

If I miss breakfast at home, which is usually fresh berried, vanilla yogurt and Grape-Nuts (R), I'll bring a couple of bananas to work with me or some granola bars.

Weekends is usually fried eggs with yellow rice and black beans, just as it was last time.

I can't say I eat breakfast at a set time due to working in retail, but I have two slices of wheat toast with seedless black raspberry jelly and two bowls of some sort of tasty cereal. And milk and vitamins and glucosamine.

I love French toast but don't make it....I have it out at a diner usually late night with the now forbidden hashbrowns. Who would think you could weigh 105 lbs and have high cholesterol? I only allow myself fried potato products once a month now. It's amazing what fear can do to your self-control.

I eat the same thing every day...and I still love it!

Whole wheat tortilla spread w/2 tbsp. fat free refried beans sprinkled w/2 tbsp. 2% Mexican blend cheese. Nuke for 30 seconds then fill with 1/2 c. eqq white scrambled with baby spinach. Munch down with lots of salsa.

I'm not a big breakfast eater. On most days I don't eat breakfast. Weekdays, it's all I can do to get out of bed and to work on time. Weekends, by the time I get up it's lunch time.

On Monday mornings, I sometimes eat breakfast but that's because I have a standing 9am meeting that takes place in my office cafeteria. The breakfast there is actually decent. I generally go for two freshly scrambled eggs and two strips of bacon. I don't really like cold meals.

About every 6 to 8 months I get my cereal craving. It's the weirdest thing. I'll crave cereal for about a week, sometimes eating it twice a day. Then, as quickly as it came, the craving will be gone and I won't touch cereal for another 8 months or so.

Where do you people come from? tortillas, beans, rice, lentils for breakfast? whaaaa? Actually, it's sounds good and I wish I was brave enough to do that.

I have to take a stupid thyroid pill first thing every morning...on an empty stomach with a glass of water. ONE HOUR LATER, I can eat. by the time I get up, get showered, dressed and long thick hair blow-dried (its a necessity) that hour has past. Sure I can get up earlier...but why try? And drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning is HARD TO DO. I usually just splash some water in my mouth after brushing my teeth to take the pill, but I once accidentally swallowed one of those fawcet bugs that way. I need the steam from a hot cup of coffee to pry appart my esophogus in the morning and that usally ends up as breakfast.
