Holiday Card Check

It’s that time of year again: a trickle of holiday cards have started arriving at my place of residence. I did get to wondering how common cards are, nowadays, though.

My family still sends out cards, generally in mid-December. Some of the people we receive cards from are extremely prompt: we got one card on the day after Thanksgiving. And we usually get a couple around New Year’s, which is fine too.

I rather like this tradition. It’s one of those things I hope doesn’t fade with ever-advancing technology. Am I alone in this as an old man, or is there more to it?

We stopped sending out cards a couple of years ago. You can find my annual Christmas video on my Facebook book. IF it makes you feel better, pretend I mailed you the URL in a festive envelope đŸ™‚

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
