I realize I’m late to the party, but Louie is pretty darned good.
I’ve watched the first three episodes of the first season thus far, and each one has been solid. Louis C.K. stars, of course, and the show is split between stand-up and what I guess you could call sitcom.
I’m loathe to call it that because while it’s funny, the topics covered have been huge – racism, divorce, homophobia. The non-stand-up segments of the show are extremely well-written and, in some cases, downright powerful.
It’s on Netflix streaming, so give it a try.
