Can I go on record saying that I think Mike Birbiglia is one of the funniest humans on the planet?
While I’ve been a fan of his for years since I first heard a piece of his on This American Life, it wasn’t until I watched his movie Sleepwalk With Me that I realized exactly how funny he is. Why? Because when you listen to him tell the story about jumping out of a second story window in his sleep at a La Quinta Inn, it’s hilarious because of his delivery. But when you watch the recreation of it on screen? It’s pretty freaking terrifying. And it takes some talent to make an event that ends with him getting shards of glass pulled from his legs in an emergency room be one of the most hilarious stories ever.
So, yeah. Funny guy.
