A Close Study of Bayside School Dances

I watch way too much Saved by the Bell. In fact, I won’t leave the house in the morning until I’ve watched the 7:30 showing on TBS. What’s even more sad is that I edit the Saved by the Bell category for the Open Directory Project. I’m kind of a sucker for SbtB (as us “in the know” call it) and other similar productions (City Guys is quite good, too). So, here is the first in what will most likely be a series of analyses of Zack and crew.

One of the most pervasive themes in SbtB is the school dance (or dancing in one capacity or another). Here is each episode (numbered according to The Saved by the Bell Web episode list) that featured the dance theme.

8.7: Save the Last Dance for Me
Zack and Mikey fight over a girl and almost come to blows at a school dance.

9.2: “Dancing to the Max”
There is a dance contest held at the Max. This is especially notable because it stars Casey Kasem (in one of two appearances he made on the show) and Lisa invents her own dance based on her sprained ankle (extra points to anyone that can name the dance).

9.5: “Fatal Distraction”
Zack is trying to get Kelly to go to a school dance with him rather than Slater (though I don’t believe this episode actually had any dancing).

9.15: “The Zack Tapes”
Zack tries to use subliminal messages to get Kelly to go to the Sweetheart’s Dance with him.

10.1: “The Prom”
Kelly’s too poor to get a dress for the prom since her dad lost his job. Zack takes her to the dance, but they sit on an outside picnic bench.

10.5: “House Party”
The crew has a party at Screech’s house, which has a lot more dancing than any high school parties I ever went to.

11.1: “The Last Dance”
Zack and Kelly break up at the Costume Ball.

11.2: “The Aftermath”
Kelly’s Sweet 16, which, as with Screech’s party, has an awful lot of dancing.

11.5: “Fake ID’s”
The guys get fake IDs so that they can go to an 18+ dance club.

11.9: “Date Action”
To pay for cheerleading uniforms, the school holds an auction where girls can buy the guys as a date to a school dance.

11.12/13: “Palm Springs Weekend” (Parts 1/2)
Jessie’s dad’s wedding. Lots of dancing here.

11.15: “No Hope With Dope”
Superstar teen idol Johnny Dakota (?!) visits Bayside to film an anti-drug commerical. However, he holds a party with lots of drugs and, get this, dancing.

M.5: “Boss Lady”
The crew has to hold an anniversary party and a Sweet 16 party at the same time at the Malibu Sands beach club. The result: lots of crazy dancing, of course.

M.6: “The Last Weekend”
The summer’s last dance, featuring a young Denise Richards as a girl who’s hot for Slater.

12.9: “The Senior Prom”
Zack tries to get Kelly to go with him to their Senior Prom.

12t.1: “The New Girl”
Don’t even get me started on the weird chronology that happened during the “Tori Grade 12” when Kelly disappeared. Anyway, Lisa organizes the Fall Ball.

12t.3: “Masquerade Ball”
Features a great scene with Slater (an astronaut) unknowingly kissing Screech (Gumby).

12t.5: “Drinking and Driving”
Ox has a party that actually has alcohol, but people still dance!

12t.7: “The Will”
The boys and girls have a competition to see who gets money left to the school by an alumnus. The check is presented to the winners at a school dance. (thanks to Aaron for reminding me of this one)

12t.8: “Slater’s Sister”
There is a Sock Hop at the Max. This is the episode better known for Zack hitting on Slater’s younger sister (that actually looks like his older, white sister).

Have I missed any?

Any mention of Ox in an episode gets extra points. OH by the way there is a dude here at school named omar that talks just like the main blond-headed nerd in sbtb. But I forgot the nerds name.

I watched SBTB too, ever since day one in fact. I remember it debuted on an NBC prime time special introducing the new Saturday morning lineup (remember when there were cartoons and kids' shows on Saturday mornings?!)

Anyway, Ryan, what's your thought on "The New Class"? I think they stink. Screech is but a shadow of his former self.

I knew Matt would have something to say on this subject. :)

I actually started watching pretty late in the game -- when I was babysitting as a summer job, we'd always watch SbtB, but I never actually saw it during its original run.

One thing about Ox I dug was that he totally changed personalities -- he was a punk-type thug and then he all of a sudden became a football jock.

My thoughts on "The New Class"... pretty weak in general, but their current lineup isn't bad (though this is their last season). However, I have trouble getting through a full episode because Screech is just way over the edge -- way too intense. He sounded fine during "The College Years", but for whatever reason, when he went back to Bayside to work, the writers had him take his personality too far to the extreme. Maybe it was the severe mental anguish caused by not being able to marry Lisa.

9.2: "Dancing to the Max"

Everybody, let's do "The Sprain"!

9.15: "The Zack Tapes"

Yes, Beau Revere! And for Mr. Belding, "Zack Morris is the son I
never had".

10.1: "The Prom"

One of my all-time favorites. I want to hang the "Zack and Kelly's
Prom" banner up in my cube at work.

10.5: "House Party"

Is this the one when Screech's parents are at Graceland? I remember
something about the Elvis statue breaking, Tori Spelling is Screech's
pseudo-girlfriend, and the gang tricking the mean, rich kid into
kissing Screech's dog. Have I mixed up many episodes?

11.1: "The Last Dance"

Notice the circular closure as they break up at the same park bench
from "The Prom".

M.6: "The Last Weekend"

Denise Richards! That's who that was. I remember her being really
hot. She still has the same acting ability now that she did then.

12.9: "The Senior Prom"

Watch those thumbs!

You can't forget the "What I should have said" Theatre, where Zack and
Slater have to make up to Kelly and Jesse for various transgressions.
Although there's not a lot of dancing, you do get to see Slater prance
around in a tu-tu.

Also, what about the "Battle of the Sexes" during the Tori years?

I remember that the check would be presented at a dance. The problem was that no one was dancing because the girls were pissed at the guys for cheating during the baking competition.
(And poor Screech had to swallow the oven knob to destroy the evidence).

FROM: Ryan
DATE: Friday February 11, 2000 -- 2:48:11PM
Aaron -- you win the prize for remembering "The Sprain". :)

And yes, you are correct about the check at the Battle of the Sexes. Great point.

> Is this the one when Screech's parents are at Graceland?

Yessir -- certainly a classic episode. And the character who they made kiss the dog was Nerdstrom (who was nowhere near as good looking as Melvin Nerdley, from a previous episode).

And you know, I realized I left out a bunch of the Junior High episodes -- there was an epsiode where Zack fought with Mikey...

I will update the original entry to reflect these important changes. :)

Which one was it where Zack and Slater nearly come to blows? (Kelly's 16th?) They are all at the Max and Zack and Slater each pour punch down each other's shirts. Then Mr. Belding prevents their fighting only to have his new toupee fly off and land in the punch bowl.

I think there was _supposed_ to be dancing at the Max.

The funnist part is the little bock-rock move that Slater does when Zack pours the punch down the back of his shirt.

More memories fight their way out of the back of my brain:

What about the one where Jesse winds up with a really short guy as a date, and Lisa uknowningly is matched with a freshman (much to her embarassment).

I remember the short dude standing on one of the steps at the Max so he could be as tall as Jesse when they danced.

I don't remember what the deal with Zack, Slater, Kelly and Screech was...

Aaron the one where Zack and Slater nearly come to blows is also the same one in which they got into blows in the hallway. They were fighting over the new girl, and they got in a fistfight. They reignited it at the Max, this is where Beldings' toupe gets knocked off.

DATE: Monday February 14, 2000 -- 5:15:57AM

Thanks for the reminder. I was thinking about the episode with "the new girl", but not in relation to the fighting. What a great episode that was. Slater shows up at Zack's house with a leaf blower, kicks it in reverse and suck's up the paper Zack and "new girl" were trying to study. Then Zack gets Slater by hiring some lady to ruin his movie date with "new girl" by pretending to be Slater's mother, whose birthday her rotten son has forgotten. IIRC, Slater gives Zack a pretty good shiner in the fight in the hallway.

Ahh, the SBtB memories keep flooding back. I might have to go buy a TV just so I can watch these golden re-runs...

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :)

I can't remember the name of the Buddy Band competitor either. I thought it had the word "friend" in it, but then I'm probably mixing it up with "Friends Forever" from Zack Attack.

See though, the genius in "Buddy Bands", what a great product name. Years later, I can still recall it, but not it's competitor. Brilliance in branding and marketing.

Maybe Zack and Kelly applied what they learned about subliminal messages to their Buddy Bands advertising campaign.

I wouldn't want to go up against Zack Morris when it comes to sales and advertising. After seeing what he put together to liquidate Lisa's wardrobe (automatic locker door-opener clothes displays and all), his marketing genius is evident.

My favorite SbtB episode? Hard question!
I think the Fake IDs one is special in my heart because it was the first one I'd ever seen. And who wouldn't enjoy the cameo appearances made by Casey Kasem throughout a few seasons. But if I had to pick one, it would probably be the one where Jessie has an emotional breakdown from the pressure of being in a dance show with Lisa and Kelly: "I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'!" Every time I see that one, I pretend to be the announcer at an award show..."And the Emmy goes to Elizabeth Berkeley of SbtB for her portrayal of a distressed teen dancer in the scene, 'I'm so excited'"

Sorry, I misread the question about favorite DANCE episode. Actually, my original answer still qualifies because it involves dancing, although not an official Bayside High School dance. I think if I had to pick a Bayside dance, I'd choose the costume dance where Slater was dressed as an astronaut and Screech was Gumby (I think) and they kissed, thinking each was someone else. Screech was not on the wheels of steel at this shin-dig but it was still a good ep.

Tough one, there are many contenders. "The Masquerade Ball" is quite funny, and "The New Girl" had us arguing as to whether Tori was really hot or not (Leather jackets no being very form fitting, unlike Kelly's outfits). But, my favorite has to be "Zack and Kelly's Prom". Zack showed his true super-mack skills in overcoming all the obstacles to
score some sweet picnic bench action.

My least favorite: "The Last Dance," where they break up. That Jeffrey Hunter dude (played by Patrick Muldoon) was such a a cheesey college pretty-boy. It was an insult that Kelly would dump Zack for that dipwad. Come on, Melvin Nerdly was better than that dude.

Kinda odd how Muldoon and Denise Richards both make guest appearances on SBtB and years later they are an item. Any other SBtB connections?

It's a tough call, but the Screech-Slater make-out scene at the Masquerade Ball always makes me laugh...

As far as SbtB connections, I can't think of any offhand (and didn't know the Denise Richards-Muldoon one), but how many people noticed the soon-to-be Bailey Salinger's bit part on several episodes? He *never* had a speaking part, but Scott Wolf had a fair amount of on-screen time, most notably as part of the glee club (the one with Tori Spelling as Violet Bickerstaff, Screech's temporary diversion from Lisa).

I also remember an epidose (the Ms. Bayside one I think) where they would cut to the assembled school (about 20 kids) and they would be clapping in support to what one of the main characters just said. There was a guy who, every time, shrugged his shoulders and clapped, as if he just went along with everyone else. Was that Scott Wolf too....

I never noticed the "Shrug and Clap" -- I will have to wait until the Ms. Bayside episode (one of the lesser-played ones) comes back around. I've always enjoyed when Slater says something and then does some sort of strange body movement or mumbles something to lead you to believe he's very uncomfortable in his role (example -- remember the episode during the Tori season where there's an earthquake and he has to kick the door in to Mr. Belding's office? Right after the door he does one of his moves -- a "goddamn, I'm cool" type of move...)

Yes! That scene where Slater kicks down the door to free Belding and Screech from Belding's office is classic. More impressive that he can execute such moves in flip-flops and a towel.

What ever happened to Belding's kid? Never mentioned again. I guess the "Zack Morris is the son I never had" from the subliminal messages episode no longer applies.

Ryan, I know exactly what you mean about Slater. He would always pinch the front of his shirt (about 2 buttons down) and pull it forward then let go. He usually would be mumbling something and looking to the side when doing it.

Since these were high school kids, they should have done an episode where Zack and AC bring their chicks to an illegal warehouse rave where they face the temptations or E and shrooms. It could be far more true-to-life than that sissy episode with the actor who does anti-pot commercial.

Furthermore, don't you love the fact that Elizabeth Berkley went from the stereotypical "feminist" to ex-crackwhore stripper Naomi in "Showgirls"? I think that might be the single most important factor contributing to my love for that movie.

It's my opinion that Zack's most humbled moment is when Kelly's little sister tells him off -- with the absolutely scathing truth.

I wish I could remember her exact words. Something to the effect of:

Zack: I like Kelly, I hope you understand.
Kelly's sister: Oh I understand all right. I understand that you're such a dork that you can't even tell a 13 year-old girl that you don't like her.
[storms off].

The look on Zack's face -- ACTING!

wow, what an awesome site. first of all, i'm not sure if this was mentioned, but the episode of "cut-day" had some dancing in it when they were at the beach. you might also remeber that episode as the one where Zach was in the protest with Jessie and her new friend Graham. that is also where Jessie and Slater decided to see other people.
One of my favorit episodes is where they have the school play be "Snow White" as a rap. Which also remindes me, when Zach had to be in the ballet in order to get enough credits to graduate, there was some dancing. I think it was called "Swan Pond."
I could go on forever, as I am a HUGE fan, but I just want to leave you with this:
"Bayside is a school and you know that it's cool. The girls are the cutest and the guy's are the hippest, too. Other schools try to touch us but you know that they haven't a clue. We'll be rockin' and a rollin' till the day is through!"

FROM: pistol jack

that was a great episode. The cream was called "zit off" but they were going to change it to "Belldecell" if Mr. Bellding would let Zach sell it at scool. The dance at the end was started because Kelly let off the classic cheer, "B-B-B-B-B-B-Beat, B-B-B-B-B-B-Beat, Go Bayside!"
But what was the name of Screeches pimple, and what was the name of the kid that they used to prove the cream works? Good luck in guessing those answers.

FROM: devon

one must not look for explanations to bayside's discrepencies. like how they have a different extra-curricular activity in every episode. at one point they're all ballerinas, then they're all actors. then they suddenly play instruments. then they're swimmers. and all the time they act as if they always did these things. or about how, when tori took kellie's place when she went to paris to model, jessie dissapeared also.

Hey, I just came across this page today. I'm Maria as in the Maria's SBTB Site Maria...yeah, noticed you had my site's link on here, but the URL is wrong. It used to be housed at but in May, thanks to their strict anti-MP3 rules, they terminated my site. I moved it to where it has been thriving ever since.
And by the way, regarding your never entirely resolved discussion about the Buddy Bands: The product they were originally selling was friendship bracelets ("Friendship Forever"). Lisa and the Fashion Club made them to sell, but when Zack wanted to be president of the team, Jessie got mad because she was supposed to be president. She, Kelly and Slater split from the group to market Buddy Bands. Lisa was working way too hard so she and Screech also left. (And by the way, I like this exchange: Lisa: "Screech, are you ready to go re-join the human race?" Screech: "You always said I wasn't a member." Lisa: "I'll sneak ya in.")
So then Zack went out of business, bought a Buddy Band, gave it to Mr. Belding to sabotage the Buddy Band business, and the group made up, combining Buddy Bands and friendship bracelets to make Love Cuffs.

I am quite impressed with the level of Saved by the Bell knowledge the posters to this forum posess. My favorite episodes of all time include, the Buddy band one, the ROTC jocks versus geeks one, and the one with the Russian chess champ competing against Screech. I have written detailed summaries of these episodes as part of an episode guide on my site

I also noticed something interesting in one of the early Saved by the Bell the New class episodes in which the "Zack" like character thinks he can get into a movie free by being in costume. He is in a costume from the V TV series (a 83-85 NBC show).

I looked at the costume on TV and noticed that it was indeed an original costume from the V TV series of so long ago. It was interesting to me anyhow since I myself have a large collection of things originally used in V.

I haven't seen really any prop or costume related items used by the Saved by the Bell actors on the market in the last 2 years but I did personally help sell an outfit worn by Elizabeth Berkely in Showgirls.

Anyhow I thought perhaps some of you might find this of interest and perhaps find my site of interest. I have submitted my saved by the bell site to the Open Directory Project and hope that it might be considered for addition there as well.

FROM: Maria
DATE: Monday August 28, 2000 -- 1:12:08AM
Actually, the Zack/Lisa relationship didn't end, per se, in that episode. Zack intended to break it off because it was causing a rift between him and Screech and Screech wanted to fight Zack for stealing Lisa. (I think this episode involved Screech ripping Zack's shirt open in the hall. I may have confused that, however, with the fight between Zack and Slater. Either way, that part was particularly lame, in my opinion.)
Anyway, when Lisa found out Zack wanted to break it off because of Screech, she got mad at him for being so possessive, and he basically gave them his blessing to be together, and they decided to continue dating.
After that, the relationship wasn't continued by the writers, but it was never officially ended either.

Hi, I'm posting this here in hopes of getting the word out a little more:
I'm having a contest at my site ( to celebrate its first birthday--write a short essay about why you love SBTB, win a SBTB video. Sounds great, hmm?
Well, despite the fact that I have information posted all over my site about it, the entries have been rolling in at a rate such that someone could write the world's worst essay and I'd have to give it to them, if that's any hint as to how many I've received.
People like free stuff, don't they? SBTB fans, PLEASE, I'm begging you, go to the site, read the info and enter!!

Apparently, Screech's new band is challenging Howard Stern's "Losers" to a battle of the bands. In the past Stern's battled bands like Tina Yothers', but this time, he might have some trouble -- Screech's band is actually pretty good! Stern played a couple of songs off of a CD and I was actually impressed...

Yeah there is... I have a scanner so i could send you the Cd book, etc. I could also send you a copy of the CD because i have a CD burner.

So which is your favorite episode of California Dreams and SbtB?

I liked the California Dreams episode where Matt sings the song "everyboy's got some on e but me" and the group wins for the best video because Matt and Jenny's younger brother video taped the song without Matt knowing it... it was stupid when they showed all the different camera angles for the video when his younger brother was hiding in that trash can the whole time !!

My favorite SbtB is a tough one because there are so many. But I love the pants Slater always wore.. those black stone washed and the white stone washed with the two straps for the belt in front... not to mention his mullet!

I can't believe I have forgotten to mention this story for SO LONG! When I was a sophomore in college, one of my neighbors in the dorm worked with Mr. Dewey's sister. I believe Mr Dewey taught math and drivers ed on SBTB. My RA and I were both huge fans of the show, so when it came time to have Hawthorne Hall's yearly Pig Roast (hmmm, can you tell I went to school in rural Wisconsin?) we wrote a fan letter to Mr. Dewey and asked him to be our guest of honor. Sadly, he never responded.

I think that is a quality SBTB story.

I am only 15 now, but I have seen every single episode of SBTB. Well, the original class anywayz. The "Good Morning Miss Bliss" days are kinda bad, I was really young then. I saw every single episode 5 times over that had Zack, Screech, Slater, Kelly, Tori, Lisa, & Jessie in it. I watched "The College Years" too, but that memory isn't as good as the original cast. I HATED the "New Class". That whole thing was just a BIG mistake! It didn't even stay w/ the same themes as the original! Anywayz, on a better note...the dance Lisa made up was "The Sprain". The "Kelly & Zack's Prom" banner is like PRICELESS! The Zack Attack was AWESOME! I love those songs. I say that as I sit hear and listen to "Friends Forever" on Limewire! 11.1-Kelly-"Can we still be friends?" Zack-"Forever." 11.5-Can I go dancing at "The Attic"? 11.9- Anyone wanna date with Wendy? 11.2/11.3-Aerobics anyone? (Zack!) 12t.7-"We bad we know it, we bad, we show it! Choo-choo!" 9.15- Mr. Belding-"Zack Morris is the son I never had." CLASSIC!! Anywayz, thanks for the page! It's awesome!

DATE: Thursday September 13, 2001 -- 6:30:34AM
question that's been puzzling me: what's the deal with Kelly's mom? We always hear about her father and through most episodes I think I assumed she was dead because they sort of talk about her dad as if it's just him. Every once in a while, though, they mention her mother. For example, when Zack and Kelly decide to get married in college, the next morning they are hugging and Zack tells Kelly to call him whatever "your mom calls your dad" to which she of course says "OK, I'll call you Frank." Can anyone help me out with this? Remember hearing something that I don't?

I have found my niche!!! I am a die-hard SBtB fan and still watch it religiously. I agree with Nessy in that the show taught us morals. There was always those little suggestive moments though, that left nothing to the imagination. For example, the buddy bands episode where Screech was the "Free Friend" for a day with a buddy band purchase. The manly tough girl (forgot name-Rhonda?) and Screech were dancing at the Max and Screech protested in exhaustment and sat down. Then she flashed him her collection of buddy bands on her arm. She said "Mom's visiting dad in the slammer, so why don't we go back to my place?"
TBS gets mad props for playing SBtB so much, they've been doing it for years. One of my favorite episodes was the one with "The Attic". Notice for such a happenin' club there's only 20 or so people on the dance floor?

i love SBTB; I watch it almost every day at 7:30 before I go to school and it is still fun to watch.

The lyrics to the graduation song went something like, " The football parties, the games, and the can we say farewell to our memories....the four years here have finally been unraveled...and soon our high school story finally ends...we'll go on with our lives now that we've parted, but how can we say farewell to our friends?" Something like that. Don't quote me on it...hehe.

As for the...uh...Artie episode, I only can remember the end of the song where she sang, " in that big chameleon banquet in the sky." something about flies before that, but I can't remember.

Awesome site, lots of good laughs! laterz

Hey, fans -- there's a petition to bring SbtB to DVD. Though I doubt there's any effect whatsoever to signing such a petition, I was surprised to see that over 600 people had already "signed" this particular one...

Remember the good 'ol days when you would come home from school and there would be about two hours of SBTB episodes to watch. Now all we have is that one hour early in the morning on TBS. Some advice to all the SBTB fans out there - tape the episodes while you can. All great shows that have been in syndication for a long time eventually come to an end.

We're writing a paper on Saved by the Bell and we are supposed to take a survey. Here goes: What four words would you use to describe each of the six main characters in SBTB? (four different words per character) [Ex: Jessie: obsessed, perfectionist, environmentalist, feminist .] ...feel free to use those same words. Your comments will help tremendously.

My boyfriend and I are having a disagreement on something: did Lisa and Zach ever kiss or have a romantic interest in one another? My boyfriend insists that they did but it didn't work out because of racial issues. I think he's very confused. Who's right?

FROM: Chris

Zack and Lisa did kiss in the episode "The Bayside Triangle". The episode ended with them happily together but in the shows that followed we see Zack back to pursuing Kelly and even the new girl Tori Scott. By no means were there any racial issues with their relationship.

hey everyone, i'm also a SbtB fanatic. i love this show!!! my family thinks i'm crazy, but i don't care. i try to catch all the episodes. anyways, i noticed how all the dance scenes were posted. i was wondering if you could name all the setting scenes and similiarities. for example, how screech's living room (episode: house party) is similar to lisa's living room (episode: the aftermath). also the classroom and what classes were in the same classrom, such as: french (the babysitters), driver's ed, rafting (the famous belding brothers) and so on. i knew they use the same settings alot, but i thought it was cool how creative they were and how they tried to make it look different. i know it sounds too much, but like i said, i'm one of those fanatics. i also like to check the details, such as the bloopers that were caught on the show like seeing the boom mics from above!

I can opnly remember: "Oh give me a school, with a big swimming pool, and a library crammed full o' books." and then there's some more with a chorus of "home, home at our school, where the swiss steak makes everyone drool. where dissecting mice, can be awfully nice. oh bayside, i think you're a jewel!"

FROM: Dave Walls [E-Mail]
DATE: Wednesday June 4, 2003 -- 12:35:00 pm
Because after all these years, the syndication money keeps rolling in.

Who knows how long it will take before SBTB leaves syndication..whenever that happens, expect to see it on DVD.

FROM: Ryan
DATE: Wednesday June 4, 2003 -- 12:51:48 pm
I don't think syndication and DVD releases are mutually exclusive, though... look at THE SIMPSONS, who are up to their third season in DVD releases...

I think it's probably because there's not nearly as much of an audience for Saved by the Bell at this point... you gotta figure their prime audience is still at the age where buying several seasons on DVD isn't an option, financially.

Though I'd certainly buy it. :)

FROM: Dave Walls [E-Mail]
DATE: Wednesday June 4, 2003 -- 1:24:26 pm
Good point, simply may have to do with who controls the rights to the show, and what the contract contains.

According to an earlier ping from Ryan, who quotes Rob, the first
two years of SBTB will be out on DVD,
which will be great, and a good barometer on whether or not the series has a large enough audience (outside the Ping, of course), to continue releasing seasons of the show.

Apparently someone finally thinks there's an audience for SbtB. You can pre-order the Seasons 1 & 2 DVD from Amazon now. It ships on September 2, 2003. (Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll have the Good Morning Miss Bliss pilot episode on it - yeah right. That would rock since I'm sure that most of us hardcore fans have never seen it. Even if they had Brian Austin Green, Erkel, and no Zack it's still a part of the show's history so I'd love to see it.)

By the way Ryan, Malibu Sands was the beach club they worked at over the summer. I think Randy (April 29th) was asking about the resort that Jessie's father ran in the 2-part episode where Jessie freaks out about her dad marrying a younger woman.

I'll have to look back through my tapes, but I think that resort was Palm Desert or Desert Springs, maybe. I'm pretty sure it had "desert" in the name.

I don't remember the guy who played the actor working at the Max. I do remember the carnival episode though. He was also on the one with the SATs where he played a rep from Harvard to make "Stansbury" want to accept Jessie. It was pretty funny towards the end when the guy was playing someone from the SATs, trying to convince Belding to go easy on Zack. At one point his mustache started to fall off and Zack busted out laughing in the middle of his line.

the song is definately called how am i supposed to live without you and the real song in real life is done by michael bolton. and ac's dad was a major in the army.

i just stumbled across this site today and im am sooo happy i did. i am an sbtb buff and i am proud to say it.

something i hate so much is when people who arent even real fans say they know something about the show and they are OBVIOUSLY wrong. my old room mate tried to get me to admit forever that slater had a time out. we all know that zack is the only one who ever did time outs. but he would never shut up. he wouldnt listen. do not fear my fellow zack-amaniacs i stood strong. ZACK IS THE ONLY ONE WHO DID TIME OUTS! he doesnt even know all the names of the actors who played the kids!! like hed know something like that. i am so pumped i found this place.

I've been playing sbtb trivia with a group for a while and we are all stumped with one question... help would be great! What was the song/question Zack had to answer to win a trip to Hawaii??

DATE: Monday May 16, 2005 -- 5:34:31 pm
Clinton P., I believe Zack had to answer more than one question to win the trip to Hawaii, but I'm pretty sure one of them was about the Pipeline, which is a surfing spot in Hawaii. Another one, which he couldn't answer, was about the ancient Hawaiian tree trimming art. Which is of course Bonzai, as Mr Belding told us when he answered the winning question just in the knick of time. I think there was one more question but I can't remember what it was. I bet Zorch could tell us. Any ideas Zorch?

FROM: Zorch
DATE: Tuesday May 17, 2005 -- 6:36:32 am
Jim, I do remmeber the episode pretty well. As a matter of fact it was on about half a year ago and I rememebr the pipeline and, of coarse, bonzai tree questions for certain. They were questions 2 and 3, respectively. I thinkt he first question was, "What is the name of the band that played the song 'Surfin USA.'" The asnwer is the Beach Boys. Clinton, hope that helps, hey I'd love to get into a SBTB trivia game, please contact me, or leave another post.

Just wanted everyone to know that the wedding song for Zach and Kelly was "When It's for You" It was sung by Allen Sovory and was never recorded. Doesn't that just suck?!

The question was asked before, but no one answered...what was the song they played in "The Last Dance" episode when Zach and Kelly broke up?

FROM: Zorch
DATE: Wednesday May 25, 2005 -- 11:59:39 am
Kimberly, I believe you are referring to the song "How am I supposed to live without you" by Michael Bolton. While Slater and Jesse's rendition of the song was quite memorable, unfortunately it was edited so we only heard like 1/3 of the song.

FROM: Zorch
DATE: Friday May 27, 2005 -- 11:45:11 am
Hot Sundae, that's exactly right, that is a sweet music video they do too! My favorite lyrics from the song are at the begging of the song "1-2-3 bend 1-2-3 stretch, 1-2-3 bend 1-2-3 stetch." The opening tempo is just great. Say Ryan, why don't you try to stump Kravius and Iwith a trivia question.

Theres no way I am reading all this (mainly cuz right now I am at work, and it would be a new low getting caught slacking by reading sbtb stuff...but of course i am going to read it when everyone goes home)...but the dance contest at the max was PHENOMENAL. easily the most hilarious episode ever. The fight over Joanna was almost...but me and my bro catching at least 6 episodes on various networks after school would beg for the dance contest everytime we saw ed alonzo on the opening credits we would chant "DANCE CONTEST! DANCE CONTEST!" the first time we saw that episode we laughed until we couldnt breathe on slaters dance sequence in the opening scene.

yeah...and he followed i tup with the twinkle toes gyration when zack poured the punch down his shirt.

Here's a trivia for you: In the episode "Rockumentary" Zack dreams that he's the frontman for a famous band called the Zack Attacks. At one point in the show, he's sitting in a make-up chair when some fans bust into his dressing room. Since their cute girls, he lets them stay and says that he used to sneak into _____'s dressing room all the time.

ok...some dilweed emailed me asking if i had every episode of SBTB: The New Class on VHS! yeah duke. let me send you all 10 tapes cuz i have 3 copies of each. what a spare. but his ridiculous inquiry made me assume that this was the only place he would have known that i know SBTB and my email address. ANYHOW reading the 10 or so posts since my last installment...i realize yall know nothing about SBTB and cant even translate sookeetz, sookeetz. hint..its not lingo...its actual human language that SBTB tried to pass off as a real foreign expression.

post up...if you know...

(even though my hint seems too much for any real fan...) the way...i just watched every episode of SBTB 10x over, not because i worship it...but due to lack of if you are a lunatic that wants to know if i know where tiffany amber thiessan (sp?) lives or if i have the college years on laser disc....dont email me.

Hey, does anyone else think that it is wierd that after the episode where Zach and Lisa fall for each other (and Screech subsequently 'gives' her to Zach) they never date again... It just seems like after going through so much trouble to be together, that they could have at least written them as dating for a few episodes. I am sure that this is an obvious point that any fan has also noticed, but I just felt that it needed to be said. It is almost insulting for racial reasons that they felt they needed to throw that one episode in, and then be done with it... Although I am not going to go that far because it was just Saved by the Bell that we are talking about. Still my third favorite show of all time.

There was always about 5 fist fights at each one. tuo can always see beaten up dressed up bodies lying on the ground. and about 30 couples took off and had intercourse! at least one girl got pregnant at each one. and at least one time a year someone got shot to death by a thrill killer.
