No Names of the Year 2002

Pop culture in America is just out of control, particularly when it comes to music. The younger the singer, the better. The simpler the pop song, the better. So, here is a list of names I really don’t want to hear about anymore, and hopefully will never hear about after the year 2002:

Britney Spears
N’Sync
Backstreet Boys
Christina Aguilera
Ricky Martin (already on his way there!)
Lou Bega (ditto)

Got any you want to add? -pm

Since this list is personal opinion I will add my own. I have become very fond of Backstreet's "Millenium" album over the last half year. I really don't care about any of the other performers on the list that you made, however despite all the mareketing, teen-heartthrob gimmics, and scheisty managers Backstreet have made one of the most solid pop albums in a long time. They are a bunch of good guys too who get a bad rap due to the category they fall into. If you can palate "pop" music give the album a listen sometime. It definately filled a musical void for me during the summer when I was going through a bunch of things in my life.

I dont wanna hear DJ's raving about princes "Were Gonna Party Like Its 1999" After 1999 the song loses its purpose.

What about 2Gether. It's a great new band. They'll be around longer than any of those other groups, except for maybe the Backstreet Boys.

Lou Bega has, thankfully, disappeared since this Ping debuted.

Kyle's last name rhymes with Song Choir.

And isn't it odd that Kyle's e-mail address is Lamar3971? Of course, there's no domain, so that must mean it's AOL because AOL is the Internet. Right, Paul?

I hate this damn web page, too.

Goddamn it, Ryan, the Internet's down again. Can't someone fix the Internet?

I hate this webpage, too. But I love that handsome bloke pictured herein.

I think we need a Ping about Paul's goatee.

I just wanted to say that Britney Spears is hot as hell, and if you're saying, with this website, that you wouldn't fuck her, then you're crazy.

That's probably the bravest post I've seen here.

Britney Spears is a product. And no, I don't think The Daily Ping is about not procreating with Britney Spears. Have you even seen the Ping about Jackass?

I eagerly await the launch of The Daily Poon.

Britney Spears has natural beauty, and her talent is natural, too. Her lyrics speak of her problems with life and love. There's nothing fake about her. I want to BE her.

I would just like to clarify, to Paul, for the record, that I, personally, do NOT want to be Britney. I wouldn't mind being Bono for awhile though.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
