Google Catalog Search

What do you think of Google’s Catalog Search?

The search engine runs through a myriad of mail order catalogs, searching for whatever terms you enter, and returns the actual pages to you with your search terms highlighted. The technology is pretty cool, but I question its usefulness.

On the other hand, I’d love to see a product manual search that works the same way; I have about 500 misplaced electronic product manuals around the house, and if I could have access to digital versions with OCR searching… I’d pay for that. -pm

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
