What to like about EZ-Pass:

  • When there’s a big backup at the tollbooth, I can zip right through the EZ-Pass Only lane.
  • Occasional discounts on tolls.
  • No need for change or fumbling with money.

What I don’t like as much:

  • Every EZ-Pass Only lane is a lane without a human being earning a living.
  • You’re supposed to be able to glide through at 10mph, but I find myself getting worried I won’t get the “EZ-Pass Accepted! GO” light and have to hit the brakes as I go through, distracting me.
  • Not all toll plazas accept EZ-Pass yet.

I rather dislike the mark of the beast they call the eazy-pass. Bar Codes are for the rulers.

Ah, yes, that was another minus I forgot to mention... I don't like the idea of them having the ability to give speeding tickets based on the time between tollbooth visits.

Wow! E-ZPass looks exactly like I-Pass (Illinois's version) with the exception of the label. I know once the first I-Pass ticket is issued for speeding, I am getting rid of it. These automatic toll systems are already taking the jobs of the toll booth operator. What will the police do if they're not out clocking speeders? Spending even more time at the donut shop!?!

I hate the fact that getting on at some interchanges you have to go through an EZ-Pass "AND TICKETS" lane. To me this somewhat defeats the whole freaking purpose of having EZ-Pass.

e=z pass has been picking my pocket since Jan. of 2000, double =billing my trips across the nbb bridge. I cancelled my account in June of 2001 and I'm still being charged.

i think that ez-pass invade your privacy. They can trace your steps through the tolls. I also hate when there is and ez-pass lane and a cash lane together. You never know if the car in front of you is going to stop or continue through the toll.

Good usability question. A lack of consistency... not good!

I don't have EZ pass. I don't want it. Wait a minute...I can't drive.

EZ Pass in Delaware has high speed lanes installed now in 2 areas along DE Route 1, which is a popular route to get to the Delaware Beaches. Meaning, there are two or three lanes (in both directions) for using your EZ FULL SPEED. Nothing like blowing by a tollbooth legally while doing 65mph!

I live in DE and the news (Philly) just ran a story that the PA Turnpike will begin giving tickets for breaking the speed limit by clocking the distance between 2 points.

I can tell you how not to apply for a job at E-ZPass. And that's by posting a comment about it on a site that has nothing at all to do with it.

Oh if you could only hear me laughing.

Can I pay on my account here?

I do love EZ Pass....I have not yet gotten a ticket for speeding, although I do creep rather slowly across the exit ramp to make up for the time I gained.

The thing that I dislike is that at my exit coming home, the ONLY lane that takes EZ Pass causes me to cross many lanes of traffic on my right as I desperately try to take my exit, the very first one.

EZ Pass means never having to open your window when it's 6 degrees outside....

E Z Pass means it is easier to raise toll rates. It costs more to pay the tolls from Baltimore to Manhattan than it does for gas! Delaware is outrageous. They got slots which everybody says are the way to raise money so why charge so much? The good part is you don't have to get tied up for forever while people fumble for money at the tollgate when they had plenty of time before getting there and discuss things with the shlepper in the booth. I remember when the Interstates were being built and they told us that there would be a small gas tax and no stopping.

does satellite radio interfere with ez pass

EZ Pass has never given out a ticket for getting from one toll booth to the next too quickly. They COULD determine that you were speeding by analyzing your time between tolls, but the truth is they don’t (regardless of how many people tell you they have a friend who got a speeding ticket this way). You can receive a ticket or have your EZ Pass service suspended for passing through a single EZ Pass booth too fast. This myth is like the “we only use 10% of our brains” nonsense: people keep saying it (and believing it), but it doesn’t make it true.

What is this then?
