Where’s My Burrito?

A number of years ago, I downloaded a slew of Simpsons sounds for my computer. I was a geek. Still am. Can’t help it. One of my favorites, though, was a clip of Homer asking, “Where’s my burrito?”, accompanied by the pounding of fists on a table. A fantastic and wacky sound, also found here, in wav format.

The thing is… I had no idea where it really came from (what episode? what circumstances? why a burrito?) The upshot is that other people have had the same question – and one even went so far as to create a burrito searching adventure!

It’s scary, but hey – college kids have loads of free time.

Some other Simpsons fan will know more about this than me, but isn't that from an episode where there's a strike at the nuclear power plant? All the other employees are marching around, chanting a strike chant. Then we see a shot of Homer at the food wagon, not even participating in the strike, but pounding on the wagon and chanting "where's my burrito". And then, because he is pounding, the window to the food wagon slams down on his head. Ah hahahah!

It's almost as good as "Don't you hate pants?"

You called it, E. The episode is "Last Exit to Springfield." I know because it's long been my favorite.

When I shut down my computer at home, that's the sound I get to take away with me. To start up the computer Homer says: "You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel". The humor is endless!

What is this then?
