The Aaron Neville Milk Ad

There are very few good commercials. Especially radio commercials; not only do they have to deal with the lack of visuals, they have to grab your attention while you’re probably doing something more important (like driving a 4000-pound vehicle down an icy highway).

Yes, there are very few good commercials. And Pingers, I’ve heard one of the worst. As part of a new marketing campaign, those zany dairy farmers have put together a series of milk radio ads. These ads include singers such as Aretha Franklin and Aaron Neville. But these people don’t just talk about the power of milk, oh no: they sing it.

I was pleased to find more information at the Nevilles site (yes, they have one). Moreso, I was very pleased to find a link on the Nevilles page to a RealAudio version of the song.

It’s got one thing nearly in common with milk: lots of cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. I think you owe it to yourself to listen in. You can thank me later.

Interesting that Aretha and Aaron would sing about milk considering that up to 75% of African-Americans are lactose intolerant.

yes, but Aretha and Aaron are apparently not cash intolerant!

Oh God, help me..The radio station I work for currently plays these made-in-hell commericials..Wynona Judd also sings one, which is equally as bad..

I share the same creative struggles as any radio producer (the station I'm at is tied to a contract to plays these pieces of $#!t), but seriously, these are horrible. (If anyone wants to share in the pain, I'd be happy to send them an MP3 of the crap.)

BTW, *who* is going to listen and say "You know, I'm not a milk fan, but if it's good enough for Aaron Neville, then dammit, its good enough for me! Ugh.

I think those MP3s are necessary to share, Dave.

I hate commercials like this. Especially when they are about something that I enjoy, like milk and cheese. It sort of takes away some of my respect for the makers. What little respect there was to start with. But I do love cheese.

I lived in New Orleans for years. Trust me, Aaron Neville and his pervasive canned vibrato is endlessly setting twinkles in the eyes of tasteless idiots. It could be worse. Imagine if while conducting your daily business in your city you simply could not escape the Aaron Neville milk ad forever flowing from any nearby speaker!! I hate Aaron Neville. Aaron Neville must be stopped!!!!

The search is over friends. www[dot]hollowayworldwide[dot]com. Click ‘Radio’ then click the right-pointing arrow till you get to the 3rd song. God bless you Dave Holloway – audio magic.

Great work, Chris. The commercial is… well… something else.
