Cadbury Eggs

There are a few “seasonal candies” that I really enjoy. I love Irish Potatoes in March, for instance. And I like the chocolate hearts my mom still gives me on Valentine’s Day. With Easter coming soon, though, I have Cadbury eggs to look forward to.

Though a single bite makes my teeth ache from all the sugar, there are few things in this world that provide as much pleasure as the center of a Cadbury Creme Egg laid by a clucking rabbit. The fact they took the time to make the center look like an egg yolk shows you the attention to detail at Cadbury Labs. I’ve heard rumors that one time, a sugar chicken cracked itself out of a Cadbury Egg. Actually, I made that up, but it’s a good rumor to spread, so get to it.

What’s your favorite Easter candy?

Of course I love the chocolate Easter Bunny, (preferably with the long ears) and eat him a limb at a time. Eyes first.......so he cant watch :)

There is nothing quite like a 1 lb. chocolate rabbit! At Valentine's, I eat way too many conversation hearts.

I too enjoy the Cadbury Egg, but I also enjoy the chocolate marshmallow eggs that come in the egg cartons. Nothing better!

In York PA there is a company called Stauffer's that makes chocolate covered graham cracker bunnies; they have non-pareils on them! I love them and should really buy up on them and freeze them so I can enjoy them all year long. Anyone from PA know these bunnies? (They make stars just like them at Christmas)

mmmmm......bunnies.....

Cadbury creme eggs are so good...if only they were kosher for Passover, I'd have it made.

I always loved chocolate bunnies until one year my mom got me a 1-pound solid milk chocolate bunny and I ate it in one sitting... I couldn't sleep until like 4am.

I can't eat any of that now, though, I have diabetes, and I'm sure it was from the 1-pounder.

Greg is probably kidding,,,but just in case. You can't get diabetes from eating chocolate. Long term obesity is a factor in Type II diabetes. though.

Can't beat the classic Hershey's Kisses! Those, and the small, pure chocolate eggs...Hold on, I need to undo another buckle on the belt..

I once saw a segment on CNN, it was probably with Jeanne Moos, where they tried to dissolve the eyes from peeps. Whatever they are made of, they will not dissolve! Not even in high-tech chemical baths! So maybe you should remove the eyes before you eat them.

Did you know that Peeps were first made in downtown Lancaster PA?

I didn't know the Peeps were Amish.

Gotta love the Amish Paradise!

I'm supposed to be avoiding sugar at the moment, unfortunately, but I LOVE Cadbury eggs. And Reeses peanut butter eggs. Those are by far my favorites. :)

To clarify, no, the chocolate bunny didn't give me diabetes. The average 30 chocolate bunnies a week for 10 years did.

Speaking of Cadbury,

I'm actually fond of the Mini Eggs that come out along with the Creme Eggs. In fact, I much prefer the Minis to the Creme Eggs. The Creme Eggs are a little too gooey for me, I think.

Interesting article I found today on Peeps. Check the poll on the right side: 46 percent love peeps, but 43 hate em. Go figure.

Oh! Cadbury Eggs with a cup of coffee, nothing more soothing. Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs go wonderfully with a Diet Pepsi as well. Russell Stover Strawberry Cream eggs are smooth and very dee-lish with ice cold bottle of water. Yummmmmmm!
