We live in a strange world.
When I first heard about Karyn, a woman who had gotten herself into some serious debt ($20,000), I thought that begging for people to repay her money for her was rather irresponsible. It was creative to do so online, but come on.
Out of curiosity, I visited her site yesterday to find that her debt had been entirely paid. (Oh, and it was a while ago. But still. Give me a break. It’s the holidays.) Coupled with help from visitors, she paid it off in just 20 weeks. Pretty remarkable.
At a time when bankruptcies are higher than ever and so is personal debt, is begging online the solution? Apparently, Yahoo! thinks so.
