Reese’s Swoops

Has anyone seen Reese’s Swoops? They seem really… weird. I don’t expect Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to be in a chip-like format. That’s like having an Oreo-shaped Ritz.

Now, I'm no genius, but isn't a Ritz round and shaped like a oreo? Maybe it's just me . . . . .

Sarah had the regular Hershey's milk chocolate Swoops and said they were tasty, at least.

The thing that's creeping me out is the reverse Reese's peanut butter cups with the peanut butter on the outside and the chocolate inside.

holy cow. I was in Walgreen's the other day and they had a display of these things (they were on sale).

I remember thinking: what the hell...?!! Strange looking things.

Although at only $1.99 I'll admit I was tempted to pick up a pack of the Reese's Swoops. I didn't tho...maybe next time ;)

I'd eat 'em if you put them in front of me, but I still agree that it's a weird idea.

I tried the Reese's Swoops and they were ok, but I wouldn't buy them again. Not enough peanut butter and the chocolate is too waxy. Ditto on the waxiness goes for York Peppermint Swoops.

Wow, I followed the link to the snacking website, and boy do they take their snacking seriously! Fabulous.

I saw the individual packages on a table at the check-out the other day, picked up the container, couldn't figure out what would make me want to pay $1.50 for something so small, so I put it back.

In contrast, I bought the tiny size Snickers after Christmas and I've determined I could eat 200 of them at one sitting, if someone were to dare me. I like that size much better than the normal size. They seem fresher. More fresh?

Brief follow-up: I read today in the Nutrition Action newsletter that these snacks contain three times the amount of saturated fat compared to the "original candy." Ew!

jk -- You and I read the same newsletter. I read the same thing ("Food Porn!") and was bummed to see that the Peppermint Patty swoops are pretty much like eating lard right out of the bin.

I know! I might as well just strap a bag of Gibbles potato chips around my neck. They are my heroin.

Peppermint Patty swoops are pretty much like eating lard right out of the bin.

Like that's something newer and grosser than Oreos. The white filling in Oreos is just lard sweetened with sugar. Mmmmm. Sweet lard.

I was very disappointed with these Swoops. The Reeses taste waxy, like somone else mentioned. It doesn't have the same consistancy as the orignal. And the shape is weird. The one thing I do like is the they are packaged. Other then that they suck!
