I don't know! Do you have the answer? um

FROM: Heather

why do people make indirect comments?

Because getting on the Internet does not make then any smarter.

FROM: Greg

Because it's the final frontier for stupidity... all other avenues are already filled.

As with anything else that is available to the masses, stupidity just seems to run amuck!

Let me speak up again....is this Ping directed toward me, since I'm supposedly the new person on the internet?

Why do they seem to all have AOL accounts?

I remember what it was like being a newbie and I made plenty of the same mistakes we see today (mainly people commenting without an idea of context or a general sense of decorum). But, this was in 1989 when the general populus wasn't even aware of what "online" meant... apparently world-wide awareness hasn't changed the nature of the mistakes that net newbies make.

You're so vain, you probably think this Ping is about you, you're so vain....

Or should I say "your so vein"?

Yeah, Alex, I geuss it's pretty conceited....well, um, this has been absolutely thrilling, the time I've spent on your little website.Yes, I've seen the light..I can see now why someone would visit this site and literally be hooked on it for years of their life, forming lasting bonds with complete strangers.Thank you all for this wonderful epiphany. The wisdom I've gleaned from your discussions now fills me with the same sense of towering dissension.I now feel so superior....you guys are DORKS.cya

Yeah, Heather, if it wasn't directed at you before, it should be now, what with the multiple spelling and grammar errors, and the super annoying usage of "CYA."

Hey, I use AOL....so does that mean I've been stupid since Gateway.net shut down? I don't think so.

Don't worry AOLers - you'll always have the WebTV crowd to look down on.

So...what's up w/ this "Heather" person. I find it hard to believe that a real person could be so paranoid as to think we're all out to get her and/or mock her.

So...the logical conclusion is that she/he/it must be a troll. But then...I guess I'm adding to the problem by addressing the would-be troll. :)

But to answer your question...it's not people on the internet, it's ppl in general that are stupid. The internet just gives them a platform. :) Think of every "stupid" person you've ever worked w/ or every clueless manager you've ever had. And then imagine then imagine them spewing their stupidity across the land via the internet. It all adds up.

I really don't see this much stupidity on the internet. Course I could be blind. Don't tell anyone that I type with my eyes closed. The real stupid people are the ones who like to play "sign my death certificate" in front of a permit load fully loaded semi rig. (evil smile)

Maybe.................Could be........................Well shucks, they have to have someone to pick on....... They know better than pick on me........ They know that I will find them.................etc.

Right! I know that towinlovinit would form a tow truck posse and find me and my car... ;)

Don't park on any parking spot lines for awhile, Ryan...something tells me you are a marked man. ;)

Personally, I thought Ryan said "Good Lord" at Heather, because he couldn't understand why anyone was looking to bring up Ted L. Nancy again....or maybe that was just me. ;)

"...was looking to bring up Ted L. Nancy again...". Dave, you weren't supposed to bring that up. Oh my! Now I am going to have that Ted L. Nancy dancing above my head again for days. Thanks!

Ryan- I forgive you, you are not a marked man this month. Well..... Maybe..... you might be.... But Dave, he definately is now for bring up the Ted L. Nancy thing again. (smile)

When you going to get any cute smiles to use in your ping?

You're so behind the times here...

You've got to forgive us... we're newbies at running a site.

No Dave, you have not mentioned how much you love us towers. I do know that you appreciate us in a blinding fogging storm when you break down though. Just don't forget the TIPS!

I think personally that this is the best site to read. I have explored many, and only found a few that I can truly enjoy without having to read slang, inappropriate words, and the like. I love this site!
