Restroom Ratings

So a few days ago, Pinger Greg contacted me with an idea for a website. He envisioned a place where a person could easily find how good a restroom was. Let’s face it, when you’re going someplace new, the quality of bathroom is a crapshoot.

I did a little searching and found the elegantly-styled Restroom Ratings. It’s just what the doctor ordered: mini-reviews of restrooms, ratings, and even photos! Lovely. It seems to be emanating from Minnesota, so you should definitely submit your ratings now.

Also, I think it has the best site icon out there.

Speaking of crappers, has there ever been a ping on the history of why we use the word crapper to describe the crapper?

Why don't we save this website the trouble and just give the entire section of Northern New Jersey an "F"?

Wasn't the toilet invented by Thomas Crapper, or is that just an urban legend?

I am going to enjoy some Coke and Pop Rocks. Bye!

jk -- Apparently, urban legend.

Bill -- From the same page: "Although the word 'crap' (used in a scatological sense) antedates Thomas Crapper and is therefore not derived from his name, the origins of 'crapper' as a synonym for 'toilet' are unknown, other than that it is a particularly American term whose earliest print citings come from the 1930s."
