Reversing Vandalism

This is kinda’ cool

It’s an exhibit in San Francisco titled “Reversing Vandalism,” but it’s not one of those stupid anti-graffiti efforts. Instead, the San Francisco Public Library found 600 books on GLBT issues, women’s issues, and HIV/AIDS torn, defaced, and destroyed. Instead of just tossing the books, the library decided they should be used for some sort of community art project, and thus, “Reversing Vandalism” was born. Everything from quilts to sculptures to new books were created.

This was a good way to take crimes fueled by hatred to turn them into something positive and expressive.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
