There were rumors of a Ping book, but those were started on the internet.

Cupholder Check

If you own a car, how many cupholders do you have? I’m curious to discover how many are out there.

My car has four: two way up front, one between the front seats, and one accessible from the backseat. The backseat one’s on full-time Car Can duty. The front ones tend to hold stuff – notes, junk, the occasional drink. The middle one is either drink or iPod, mostly.

Three tiny ones in the MINI and one large capacity dealer add on that gets in the way of the passenger seat and has scuffed up the stick shift bezel.

Three in the Plymouth Breeze IIRC. I don't use them for cups--I toss change in them, so I don't pay all that much attention.

I hate cupholders--but that statement threatens to bring up the other topic of "does food and drink really belong in one's car?"

But, now that the car serves as, among others, TV room, dining room, secretary, phone booth, brothel (though not usually in transit, like the others) and powder room, why not a soda fountain and coffee shop too? What the hell?

Next, they'll be installing kitchen fixtures including deep fat fryers.

Not a one. There are two coaster-like spots on the glove compartment door, though. Crazy '85 thunderbird.

Two... they're the perfect size for a can of soda or certain travel mugs, but they're too small for a 20 oz. bottle of soda, which is kind of annoying.

What is this then?
