What’s for lunch?

So, I’m a bit late with today’s Ping. Normally Paul’s standing over me with a sharp spear and jabs me in the ear if I haven’t written anything by 9:30, but today he’s taking a nap in the back room.

I’m about to go grab my lunch from the fridge. I’ve got a tasty bread salad (no better use exists for stale bread), a plum, an apple, and my usual combination of sweet and salty snack foods.

What’s in your lunch sack today?

I had a very late breakfast as this is a day off for me, so an apple will be my lunch. Mmm, fiber.

open faced sandwiches with ham, cheese and salami. But I went out to CiCi's with the co-workers instead.

Turkey sandwich w/spinach on double fiber bread, carrot sticks, water...my lunch sucks!

On almost every other day my lunch consists of:
Pepper-turkey and provolone on whole wheat, applesauce, string cheese, and a sweet (usually cookie)

Today tho, I picked up lunch on my way to work (otherwise I'd have to go out during lunch and I wouldn't be able to read the ping now would I?). I have become partial to the Starbucks sandwiches. (Try them, they are seriously good). I had:

turkey and cheese on wheat, plus the "cheese plate". Oh, plus I had a reese's cup from the vending machine.

aharris, I can see why you eat that almost every day. MMMMM
I had an apple and a roast beef sandwich with mustard on whole wheat bread. boring.

when I was a kid I used to love cold spaghetti-o's or corn beef hash- both were a very rare treat from the usual sandwich and fruit. I bet all the other kids thought the hash was dog food.

I am so glad to read that no one had white bread for lunch. Good for you!

I am cutting way back on red meat, not to gain points with Ryan, but to lower my cholesterol. I will only allow myself to have it once a month.

jk, congrats. It's been three months since I last had red meat. no withdrawal symptoms yet, thankfully! Cholesterol is down too...of course, the Lipitor helps...

I cook at a restaurant... and as usual, I won't eat until I get home. Not because I don't WANT to, but because I don't have TIME to.

Ciao,

Thanks Dave! Last month I changed jobs, and before I lost my FABulous benefits with Blue Cross Blue Shield, I decided to have as much testing done as possible. I realized that despite being slim, I could have something to worry about, and I do! My brothers call me Joan Beef (here you have it again--my name is joan) because growing up, my mom made the best roast beef and I loved it more than the average Joan. I also like gravy just a little too much...I also blame late-night gravy fries over the Holidays for my cholesterol being up there.

Ground turkey is your friend! I like it better than ground beef because you rarely get that one icky gristly bite.

Yesterday I had a cold Popeye's fried chicken breast and some leftover Indian food which stunk up the office, but was quite tasty to me. I guess I sort of got back all those in my office who stink up the office eating hard boiled eggs for breakfast because they're on Atkins as they try to slim down for bikini weather.
