The Bad Sitcom / The Bad Movie

Sometimes, it’s fun to reference a bad sitcom or movie in conversation. For example: “My homework was worse than watching a Suddenly Susan marathon.” Or: “That coffee is worse than Battlefield: Earth!”

My default bad sitcom is, in fact, Suddenly Susan. And my default bad movie is Battlefield: Earth. What are yours?

Everything was going great until he suggested we rent Tron!!!

This is an actual joke circa 1986 from my friend Nancy. We were on our way to a concert or something and we stopped at a convenience store. Nancy looked at the video selection as we checked out and said "We could always just rent Tron."

Thank you so much for allowing me to re-live this memory. The concert, by the way, was, like, far better than Cop Rock.

I actually watched Suddenly Susan somewhat regularly for the first two seasons.

Good call on Cop Rock, jk.

*sniff* I kinda liked Tron.

It was still better than Hudson Hawk. That's been a running joke in my family for years now.

Mine is 9 Deaths of the Ninja. My dad and I watched this when I was a teenager and it remains our point of reference for bad/weird movies.

As I came up to the theater to get in line for Back to the Future 2, there were already 200 or so people in line. I asked loudly, "CURLY SUE IS PLAYING HERE?!?!?!?!?!?!"

Even though everyone I know thinks it's a bad movie, I'll quote UHF anytime I can. I think I'm the only one who paid to see Weird Al Yankovic in the theaters.

UHF is a great movie. Who wants to spin the wheel of fish?

Louie Louie is a horribly done song yet we remeber it and not what Coltrane did. Pink Flamingoes is a horrible movie yet it is great entertainment.

I saw UHF on opening day. It's ranks #3 in my favorite films list. I actually was just singing "Let me be your hog" yesterday, which appears on the soundtrack.

I love UHF, love Weird Al and have actually seen him in concert. Still ranks as one of the best concerts I've ever been too because it was a concert and show in one. He came out in full costume for every song (with little to no delay between; still not sure how he changed that fast).

As for worst movie ever, I think I've seen it. I have a friend who I enjoy watching really bad horror movies with. Our pick for worst ever - and there is a lot of bad horror movies - is called Ankle Biters about a group of midget vampires.

Yeah, I’ve been digging through the archives here. So sue

My bad sitcom would be Will And Grace(No, I DON’T have a problem with gay people. I DO have a problem with crappy writing).

My movie, would probably be Trial And Error (with Michael Richards, and Jeff Daniels). Two great comedic actors couldn’t save that stinker.

And I have a list as long as my arm of runners up (That 70’s Show and Godfather III, or Dharma And Greg and The Wedding Singer)

What is this then?
