Mindmapping

I suspect that this Ping might inspire some serious silence, but I figured I’d give it a shot.

A few days ago I was thinking about a project of mine and it occurred to me that mind mapping software might help. The next day at work, a co-worker mentioned that we should use mindmapping software for a project of his. Then, I read a blog post about mind mapping. THERE’S A LOT OF MIND MAPPING HAPPENING.

Have you used any of the many mind mapping tools? If so, which ones do you like? I’m trying FreeMind right now and it seems pretty helpful… sort of like creating an outline but without having to worry about all the roman numerals.

You were right, a lot of silence. 😉

I tried a few in the mid 90s when they first came out, but none of the software seemed superior to simply lying down with a pad of paper and pen and sketching things out. Okay, sure, you can drag things around, but for freeform, paper still wins in my book.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
