I go with the former, since our dog will wear a jacket in the rain (otherwise she smells!) and in the extreme cold (hey, she’s got a thin natural coat!).

Boy, this is a tough topic.
I generally think they’re obnoxious. But then I’m outside with the pup, and he’s starting to shiver and I think, “He needs a coat!” However, he will simply try to eat it. Maybe when he’s older.
