Doctor Who

The time has come for me to admit that I’ve become a fan of Doctor Who.

It was a long time coming, really. I carefully worked my way around the sci-fi geek spectrum growing up, mostly settling on Star Trek; I didn’t see Star Wars until 1997. I had heard about the good Doctor for many years but thought the show wouldn’t really be to my liking.

It was with an open mind, then, that I gave the show a try in the most recent season with the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith. I watched it and liked it. So I watched another episode, and another, and I was hooked. The show had enough sci-fi elements to be enjoyable, a great canon too, but wasn’t something that felt truly heavy and required deep concentration to understand. I enjoyed the characters, which is perhaps the most important part. Soon I had watched the entire season and jumped back to the 2005 and 2006 seasons, which I also liked.

All in all, I’m glad I gave Doctor Who a shot. It’s good.
