The town without a grocery store

It’s crazy, but it seems that Woodstock, NY does not have a grocery store.

Yeah, there’s a health food store that has all the items one might need, but obviously it’s cost prohibitive for many. And right next door there’s a Cumberland Farms with a gas station, but it’s tiny and kind of sketchy. According to this Yelp review of a nearby town’s grocery store, it’s a conspiracy of local politicians to not allow a grocery store in Woodstock proper.

I guess I’m just not used to towns of a certain size not having a chain grocery store in the city’s limits. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing, just unusual.
