Paris’s Nap Bar

Well, here’s some good news: there’s a new nap bar opening in Paris.

Before proceeding to one of the bar’s four floors, visitors are asked to remove their shoes and don slippers. Upstairs, rolling jade stone shiatsu massage beds and anti-gravity chairs in dimly lit curtained chambers welcome the weary, while headphones playing soft music completely block the outside world. A 15-minute nap costs 12 euros, about $16; manicures, pedicures and head and foot massages are also available.

This is an idea whose time has come. I’ve been an advocate for a “sleep store” for over a decade now – just a place where one can drop in, take a quick nap in a clean and comfortable environment, and then go. It’s ideal for our modern lifestyles. And while I’m not thrilled that the nearest one is 4,146 miles away, at least it’s on the same planet.
