Minivans

I am not ashamed to admit that I like minivans. A lot.

Right now we’ve got a Honda Element, which is just a swell box/SUV. But it does have its limitations: it only seats 4, the second row of seats is nearly impossible to reach from the front seats, and… that’s it really. (Huh – it really is a great car!) However it’s entirely possible that we’ll want to replace our vehicle in the moderately-distant future with something that will seat 5, and at that time it’ll be Replacement Car Time.

I’m going to push for a minivan. They’re gadget-filled, comfortable, and have OK gas mileage. Yes, just OK. But as a backup, I’m actually willing to go with a sporty station wagon. Do you hear this? A wagon! A minivan!

The funny thing I’ve noticed is that when I’ve talked about this with co-workers and friends who are male, they’re also on the pro-minivan front in general; it’s their wives that are staunchly anti-minivan and that’s my case, too. Kinda funny how that all changed, isn’t it?

Depending on your “wagon” needs, the Vibe/Matrix is pretty cool and roomy. The Subaru Forester is a nice machine too. I’ve not heard many problem with any of them and there are no recalls on any model from 2005 on.

I’ve moved a few Chrysler Town & Country’s around. They’re loaded to tons of options. Certainly more than I’m used to seeing in my 01 PT Cruiser.

If you need any “inside” information, technical bulletins, recalls, stuff like that. Drop me a note by email and I’ll see what I can do for you.

Ciao,

What is this then?
