Back in the day, error pages on the net were rather dull and uninteresting. But times have changed, and since today is 4/04, I’d like to share some of my favorite 404s with you.
First, naturally, I think mine is pretty swell and Ryan’s is scary. Angelfire uses varying attempts at humor. Zeldman uses phone metaphors. ESPN’s is bland. I don’t think Yahoo! has changed its error page ever, save for the new header graphic. AltaVista’s error page is plain, but includes an odd plug for Visa. (A search engine prefers Visa?)
